Me, my Guru – on ego!
“Good
to hear that. Let others hear the story of ego then” she said smiling.
Rahul
and Aziz immediately intervened and said “Please Guruji, let’s take tea break.
You have been talking since long. Take a break of at least 15mts. Let us
continue after that” so saying Aziz brought her some fruits in a bowl and asked
her to go in, eat and take rest for few minutes. She obliged with a smile. She
could see their love and concern in their act. When one’s heart is pure and
mind clear, it can see concern and affection even in the simple acts of the
other. When the heart is filled with greed and selfishness with mind clouded by
ego and anger – well, love, blessings and even grace is not recognized and
validated. So sad!
Some
of us were irritated with the break. We were angry at Rahul and Aziz for the
same. Why did they initiate a break? We so wanted to hear the story. It was
only later; I understood that when we are restless with desire we get angry.
The anger is the outcome of our attachment to our desire. And yet, we assume
the other person is wrong when we are angry. We dump our anger on the other.
And still consider ourselves as ‘good person’ and the other as ‘bad person’.
What an irony!
Well,
our Guru came back after the break and resumed our class “In a certain country
was a King who was into spirituality. He would practice meditation regularly.
He held his Guru at high esteem. Contd....
