God and devil

God and Devil

The difference between God and the devil is in nothing except in unselfishness and selfishness.

Choose the nature and develop it with repeated practice.

That nature as it grows will also help the Godliness or the Devil in you to grow.

And before long, you become either of them.

Your choice is the first step.

And the one thing that stops you from making your right choice is 'your mind' - the logical and analytical mind that gives 'senseless reasoning' to choose what is painful for you.

Beware of your mind.

Beware of its arguments.

Beware of your choice.

Sit in meditation to know your mind and its games. Then sit and heal those of areas that are harmful for your wellness.

Be good to yourself.

On mind

On mind

You are successful or you are a failure – both are the results of your mind.

You are a devil or God incarnate – both the outcome of your mind.

You are sad, desperate, lonely, depressed or you are happy, joyful, surrounded by people who love and respect you – both reflect how you have trained your mind.

You HAVE A mind. You are given a mind. You are given mind so that you can discipline it and make it your genie and work out all the miracles of and in your life.

But sad is his life who is slave to his mind. Anger rests in the mind that is the master of the man. Hatred and desperation for fulfillment of desires is the state of mind that is gone mad.

But the good news is that mind however reckless, useless, devilish it be, it can be trained and brought under the control of the man. And the simplest of all techniques is Meditation.

There are ample reiki techniques to train the mind.

Use them all regularly and become master of your mind.

Use it to achieve all that you dream of.

Use it to be happy, successful and rich in life.

Stop being slave to your mind and its desires.

Rise up, get up and free of your limitations.

Achieve and BE what you are capable of!

Remember, your outer world is the reflection of your inner world. Heal your inner world and your outer world will change for better. Don't expect miracles to happen in a week or so. It will take time. Have patience and be in sadhan.

Points to sit and think about :

Meditation - what it means and why is it so important especially when a person is so 'proud' of his 'thinking ability'.

Meditate - are you using all your mind's logical ability to argue against it or using your desire to win over your fear, loneliness, sadness and depression?

Meditate - be courageous enough to know self. Be courageous enough to face the truth about your real self. Only one who is courageous enough can actually sit and meditate. One who is addicted to pain, anger, hatred and depression will find umpteen reasons to sit and cry. He will find reasons to run away from meditation. He will not meditate. Leave him alone.

YOU meditate and be free of your pain. You become free from your circumstances.

Time you make your mind your friend.

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Contd.....

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

“Material benefits and desires can be fulfilled by going to any place of worship. That’s why so many religious rituals are present. But, to become free from pain and suffering we need to outgrow our ignorance. And to drive away that ignorance we need a Guru”.

“So it is indeed advisable to seek a Guru who would drive our ego and thereby our ignorance from us from all Gods and through every mode of prayer”.

“Once Guru enters your life, he aids in removing your ignorance. He works on ego too! And in the process, he lets abundance of every kind enter your life”.

“Guru is not a key to material benefits or comforts. He is not an ATM card to swipe against any of your desires”.

“But with Guru’s proximity in your life your every want and need is served to you on a platter. That is out of His Grace! That is not your right! You can’t demand it!”

Today we understood more than we could digest. Today, we understood more than we had over the years. Our Guru was right. One story, one moment was enough to understand and see the facts. One moment was all it took to understand how we had been wrong all these years. One story was all it took to see where our mistakes were! And it was then we understood how we have wronged against her over the years!

If only one moment was enough to wipe out all our sins!

If only one moment was enough to ingest all our understanding into our psyche and life!

And yet, this was no mean blessing.

We were richer with knowledge. We were richer than we expected to at the start of the story.

We lingered at her place longer than required today. The joy that we experienced because of this understanding made us feel so happy to be around her.

She had other works to attend to. But still, we were selfish as ever to ONLY want what we wanted!

Even this time we didn’t think about her needs, wants, comforts, privacy or issues!

Maybe, someday, some other story would do that trick. But for now, we lived for our joy ONLY!

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Manda fell at his Guru’s feet out of realization of his guru’s love. He led a life worthy of his Guru’s expectations and made his Guru proud in all the years to come!” so saying our Guru concluded the story.

It was time for break. She had some personal work to attend to. And we needed the ‘break’ for introspection. So many questions came up as we discussed the story among ourselves. And out of the brain storming came our understanding that we put in front of her when she came back.

“Fool is one who seeks material comforts, possessions as a boon!”

“Seek Guru’s blessings and His presence in life. Other things will follow automatically”

“Guru’s blessing is to be earned. It is earned by developing qualities of trust, respect, gratitude, truthfulness, honesty, dedication to sadhan and Guru’s words, humility, surrenderance and selflessness.

“One who is arrogant enough to use Guru as dumping ground of his lust and anger loses his status of being a student even automatically. How then can he expect to receive after that from his Guru?”

“Blessing is Guru’s grace. It is not ‘an entitlement’. One who thinks he can ‘demand’ blessing and material gains by simply calling someone Guru is a fool. ‘Guru’ is not a word. It is a not a ticket to ‘ATM’ of desires. It is us saying ‘I am working on losing my ego and let you work through me’. Until and unless this happens, nothing happens”.

“Material benefits and desires can be fulfilled by going to any place of worship. That’s why so many religious rituals are present. But, to become free from pain and suffering we need to outgrow our ignorance. And to drive away that ignorance we need a Guru”.

Points worth considering :

Know that the basis of every relationship is mutual trust and respect. When we have affection for the person, we stand by them in times of need. We stand by them during tough times. The one who chooses people over things is ever happy in any relationship. There problem is situational not personal. And together they can face it.

The trouble starts when we LOVE things and demand and expect people in our relationship to fulfill our desires/demands. Here we are USING PEOPLE to get things of life. Here problem is not with the person. Here the problem is because of our demands from the person. This reflects selfishness in our nature. And no selfish person can be happy with anyone in life. KNOW THAT!  Heal that selfishness, overcome that. learn to be content in a relationship. Don't chase PERFECT imaginary relationships and lose out on the one in hand.

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Now our Manda was a student – a good one too (in studies) who had learned and studied Upanishads and other great texts under his Guru. So, he didn’t argue senselessly. He didn’t need lengthy explanations. One question was enough to make him realize where and how his line of thought was going wrong. He immediately fell on Brahmin’s feet and said “Dear sir, you have opened my eyes. You shook my ignorance that came because of my ego and arrogance in me! You can’t be a normal mortal! Please show me your real self!”

Brahmin immediately regained his original luminous form and said “Son, get up. I am Lord Indra – the one you’ve been accusing of having caused wreak in your life. Now, with your senses regained, I am pleased with you. Ask for a boon!”

Manda immediately replied even without waiting for a second “Let my Guru come back to me and may he be relieved of the pain that I have inflicted on him by my actions and words! May he forgive me and accept me as his student again!”

Lord Indra was much pleased with Manda and blessed him so. Next moment, his Guru stood smiling in front of him. Manda knew he was forgiven with one look on his Guru’s face. And yet he fell on his Guru’s feet out of shame, regret and remorse. His Guru lifted him up lovingly and said “When given a boon, you sought my forgiveness instead of your family and material possessions that you lost. I am much pleased. Here, I bring back your family and all in your life – once again!”

Pointers in this story :

“When given a boon, you sought my forgiveness instead of your family and material possessions that you lost. I am much pleased. Here, I bring back your family and all in your life – once again!” - Here it is not be understood as God/Guru are egoists who want to be flattered to get your job down. They are not desperate for our praises. Then what does this line mean? Every choice we make will give us our results. Manda could also have chosen his family and his possessions. Indra would still have given him that. That way also he would have got back what he lost. This is the way a 'mind that is selfish' thinks and acts! He may get it but would lose it eventually and end up being left with nothing again - one way or the other. Not because his Guru/God would curse him for choosing materials over them, but it is the nature of the 'things of this world' to be gone from life. Everything comes with expiry date.

Then what to do? Ask for the highest - be it your Guru's grace/love/blessing or God's bhakthi/grace/companionship. Then with that you would also receive the things of this world (which would also go away after their time) but you would still be left with the Guru/God by your side.

Is this point clear or confusing?

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

 Contd.....

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Weather had become strange of late! It was raining heavily and the wind blew away almost everything. One night Manda’s fields were totally destroyed in the storm that blew the night before. His mansion collapsed. His children and wife died. His cattle either died or ran away hither-thither. Everything he had worked for was lost. Falling on the ground Manda cursed Lord Indra for being cause of his misery. He went around the village stating that the Indra caused havoc in his life and so doesn’t deserve ‘fire offering’ (homam). Villagers found his argument right. Lord Indra was the Lord of rains and caused thunder and storm too! So, he was responsible for all this havoc* logically speaking. This seemed right!

*(havoc – using right data to arrive at wrong conclusion is the work of mind that is disturbed by desires, ego and emotions)

Few days passed. No ‘fire offering’ for Lord Indra in that village.

Now Lord Indra found this disturbing. So, he took a guise of an old Brahmin and met our dear Manda. He asked “What happened here? Why are you crying?”

Manda replied “I had a huge mansion with wife and children. I was a rich man. I had lots of cattle. And yet now both my riches and my life is in ruins”.

Brahmin asked “Pray tell me, who gave you cattle”

“Why me of course!” replied Manda with pride “I worked hard to earn it”.

“Oh I see!” replied Brahmin. “Then who gave you land and riches”

“Well I worked hard to get them” replied Manda proudly.

“And wife and children – who sent them into your life?” asked Brahmin with a grin in his eyes.

“I sought them out myself!” replied Manda pompously.

“Then what caused this misery in your life? Who took away everything?” asked Brahmin.

“Lord Indra of course!” replied Manda angrily.

“How can Lord Indra who was not there to give you anything take away any of these?” asked Brahmin laughing.

Read the above link to understand the following points/questions : (and share others which you have understood)

Why does it seem like it is the end of the world or life moment?

What comes after the worst period of life?

Even after doing sadhan/reiki/believing God, how come things went for a toss in my life?

Why does a break down situation happen?

To bring more abundance in life, it is needed by life to burn down all that we have now for good.

(All this applies only if the person is in regular sadhan....and has worked on changing his attitude for better..)

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Wow! Where did the story stop and where did it bring us? if we had read this story on our own we certainly wouldn’t have come to this understanding and conclusions. But, she being she…well….

I was still collecting my thoughts that she continued the story from where she stopped “Guru realized where the mistake was and he tried explaining to the Shishya. But Manda like you enlightened beings decided not to understand anything that his Guru had to explain or offer. He was happy with his life and he didn’t want to hear anything to disturb ‘that line of thought’*

*(How egoistic are we even in what we wish to receive by way of teaching, counseling and preaching? We want the ‘teacher’ also to tell ONLY what we want to hear – not what is ‘right’ and ‘good’ for us!?)

Having nothing much to do Guru** left him for good. Manda continued with his life.

**(Guru is not one who is your genii waiting to make your unreasonable wishes also to come true.

He is one who shows you yourself, your purpose, your flaws and slips, your strengths and techniques to work towards goal of your life)

Cursed is the student who pushes away a Guru who is ever alert to whistle even at his slightest slip. And blessed is the student who has such a person to guide him in his life.

But Manda thought otherwise and bid his Guru goodbye. Few years passed.

points stressed :

Universe and Reiki are giving us answers to our every question the moment we ask it. It is we who are not 'listening'.

We are not 'listening' to the answer given. This is because we are adamant even when we seek answers. We want it in a certain way and in certain format ONLY.

Our adamant nature then reflects in the situation that we are complaining about. Our this adamant nature is the cause of our suffering too. And yet we don't want to accept it, heal it or address it.

Remember every time you had an issue in the past how you addressed it with reiki and its techniques. Do the same this time also. Don't use logic or try to analyse the situation or the persons involved. Just heal.

Fall back on your experience. Don't let your mind play games with you. Don't accept its logic.

Heal. Use this situation and pain to become more stronger person than before.

You have it in you.

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

Contd….

Me, My Guru – Indra and I

We are under the wrong notion that ‘spiritual powers’ are to be used to live a physical life and enjoy comforts and abundance of this physical world. Therein lays the problem. It is not so. We are not human beings come here for spiritual experiences! We are spiritual beings come as human beings to use human conditions for spiritual growth! The day you see it this way, the way you relate with life and its conditions and experiences will totally change!

Just like it is ‘duty’ of the child to study, it is ‘duty’ of ‘human life’ to develop good qualities and drop asuric qualities. The child is also allowed to play. Similarly, a human can also have things of this world. Just as it is ‘wrong’ for child to play always or go after every ‘toy’ that he sets his heart on, similarly to clamor or go after ‘every desire’ of ours is ‘wrong’. These desires may be the ‘normal ones’ and what you argue as ‘must’ and ‘everyone having’ – yet! The way you become desperate for them is wrong. That is the cause of your pain and suffering. Non-fulfillment of your desire is not the reason for you to suffer. No person in your life is reason enough to suffer. Your expectations, conditions and state of mind are the cause of ‘hell’ that you are experiencing.

Wake up and reclaim your life! Stop pointing fingers at others. If you are adamant and stick to your own reasons, logic, mind and its arguments – well enjoy the stay in your hell. But, those who actually have had enough of this suffering, get up, own up your emotions, meditate and look into the base of your desires and heal them” she stopped, looking at us sipping a glass of water.
