On life and death!

On life and death!

Image result for dont take for granted quotesThe one who died yesterday was the person who had plans for today......

the one who died today was the one who had plans for tomorrow.....

Never take life for granted for you never know.....when the calling comes......

We take all that we have for granted so much that we are ever so complaining about things that don't happen to us.
Image result for grateful gratitude quotes
We are ever complaining and angry that we are denied of things that we wish and desire that we own.

We are angry and resentful that things are not going our way and at our pace.

But in the entire story we forget we are still "ALIVE" if we are complaining!

and trust me, as 'routine and boring' as that sounds - it is HUGE!

Appreciate life even if you lack couple of things in life!

Appreciate life for what it offers!

for if you can't appreciate and live with things and people you already have, you can NEVER be content, loving and happy with things that you are working to get in your life!

On appreciation!

On appreciation and validation! Me, My Guru

"Appreciate what  you have before it turns into what you had!

Always show appreciation. What's taken for granted will eventually be taken away. Then you end up missing most what you least appreciated!" said our Guru.

Image result for appreciation quotes"If someone doesn't appreciate your efforts, stop trying to please them. if they don't appreciate you, then they don't deserve you.

Demanding people can only crib, complain, abuse, irritate and finally hate you. You can never make them happy. Your place is not in their life! You move on to work with people who deserve and respect you!" said Kshama in a firm voice. She wasn't saying this in continuation to what our Guru had said. She said this to our Guru. She was angry at some people who were too demanding and not treating our Guru kindly of late! So she was asking our Guru to send such students away from her!

Rahul added " If only they trade their expectation for appreciation their world would  for them".

Me, My Guru – On fear!

Me, My Guru – On fear! Contd...

Image result for vivekananda quotes“Yes. I do! One of my greatest fears is if on my death bed one of you asks “What is the lesson you would want us to learn from your life?” and if my answer ended up being “Don’t waste your life teaching people about Dharma. Don’t end up wasting your life showing them the “Right Path”. No one wants that! They will take ONLY what they want! Not what is ‘Right’ and what you have given!

Make something useful from your life!” she became silent staring at the floor.

Image result for vivekananda quotes
We sat there dumb folded! Her pain and fear hit us hard! And to think the giver of that pain would be “us” –her so called “good students”. Her fear was also based on our attitudes, characters and the way we conducted ourselves.

And I knew for sure inspite of knowing this we in all of selfishness held on to our pain, suffering and ignorance more dearly than before. The fear of the “unknown” bliss was so strong in us that we reveled* in the comfort of our known pain and suffering.

It was sad that she had key to help us out of our fears but she didn’t have hers. Because her fear was based on us! And we….

For once we were silent for quite sometime…..

She didn’t talk for the rest of the day….

Our day ended. Hers didn’t!

Me, My Guru – On fear!

Me, My Guru – On fear!

“Guruji, do you have any fears?” asked Rahul abruptly in the class that was dealing with fear.

He was good at asking questions related to our Guru. We asked irrelevant questions like –

“Where did you study?”

“What is your degree?”

“What is your caste/religion/marital status?”

“How many children do you have?”

None of these questions benefited us one bit. But we were only for “data collection” as she termed these questions and their answers.

But Rahul asked questions the answers of which not only benefited him but also us in more than one way! Today was one such ‘question’. Most of us thought she had no fears. And some who thought she had fears didn’t dare ask her that.

Moreover we were ever busy collecting irrelevant data. So where was time left to seek “sensible” stuff from our Guru!

I like many presumed her to say “I don’t fear anything”. But to my surprise was her answer. It also hurt me a lot!

Points to look into :

  • Not every question asked is worth an answer!
  • Not every thought that crosses our mind deserves to come out as question
  • Only question that is "sensible" and useful either to yourself or others is the 'right' question
  • Accusing and calling names someone who benefits you is not "asking doubts"
  • Question that you ask reflects your character. Justifying it further only reiterates your character. It doesn't help one bit in making your wrong right!

Me, My Guru – No mood to do sadhan/healing

Me, My Guru – No mood to do sadhan/healing

"Guruji! I am in no mood to do healing. I am waiting for my mood to get better and then I will do sadhan!" said Vaishnav.

You don’t sadhan when your mood is good. You do sadhan for your mood to get good.

“So that means if I am happy I don’t need to do sadhan?” he asked. And we found his question stupid as many times before.

“Then you do sadhan not to slip into mood swings and depression” she replied with patience.

We all laughed and she left us with our ‘limited and twisted understanding’.

Me, My Guru – on furthering the sadhan……

Me, My Guru – on furthering the sadhan……

Image result for spiritual practices buddha quotes

If with IIdg you’ve travelled much further than most masters, then why do you think mastership will limit you or make you like them? Don’t you think you can make much progress than them! Think about it!

Image result for spiritual practices buddha quotes
We all need to go from A to B. we all wish to travel world too – well most of us!
Is there only one way of going from A to B – walking? NO!

Do we not use public and private transport depending upon our needs and affordability? Do we say ‘I’ll walk to Kashi** and not take train?” Yes, you can but what about time, hardships and energy wasted!

Like-wise each mode of transport comes with its pros and cons and we choose them weighing those pros and cons against each other!

This makes our journey faster, comfortable, easier and longer distances are covered in lesser time.

See the healing also as this journey to be taken. Don’t you think each additional technique will make our healing of certain aspect better and faster”.

So saying she left us for the day!

And we were left thinking of those words!

And all that Deshpande ended “How much time I’ve wasted because of my wrong understanding?

Others remained silent!
