On hindi poem - Safar by Nida fazli....
Why we
understand the way we do – be it poems or any word written or said? And
How to use our perception/understanding to grow as a person?
You are what you read!
When you read a poem you usually read a poem from your expectations and observations. If it seems to reflect some facts which ‘seem’ negative then shake your thoughts a bit and read with an open mind and try to see it from different angle. Question what he meant through the day! Keep thinking about it! This is one of the Zen technique used for personal growth!
Next, even if we accept your way of thinking and interpreting the last stanza as “if you can walk over me and succeed do” even then it is not negative. It is the fact of life! It is the hard Truth! If SUN is hot it is! We can’t call it ‘negative’ or depressive. Can we? Such is this fact too! There are people who’ll use others to go ahead in life! And if a poet expresses that Truth about people and world then why term it as negative? Accept it as fact of life! See the difference in you. You’ll become free from a condition within you! Try it.
Ostrich is a biggest bird but when it is in danger and if it feels it can’t escape inspite of running for some time, it immediately digs a hole in the mud and puts its head into that hole. It thinks it can save itself from the danger!? Really?
Are you like that Ostrich? Running away from the Truth and reality?
Do you want to lead your life that way?
Are my students so weak that they need to hide the Truth, not face it and instead paint a rosy picture and want to live in a dreamy state of mind?
Then what am I doing here? Did you not come to me to realize that you are lions?
We are Vedantists!
We follow ‘Sanatana Dharma’ that states and believes that ‘we are the immortal part of That Whole!’
Like other religious beliefs we are not ‘sinners’ or ‘sheep’ ready to be lead by a leader who calls himself a shepherd!
We are eternal all encompassing divine souls. We know no fear! Then how can we take shelter in these small ‘lies’ that say ‘All iz well!’
