on wishes unfulfilled!

What with Reiki?

"I did reiki to a person who was very serious but yet he died within few hours/minutes of my doing reiki. Where am i going wrong? Why did my reiki not work?"

"I do F.H. and yet don't see results....how to fall back on it then? Why does it not work for me?"

"When ever I do intention reiki it doesn't materialize for me as others tell. Why?"

Can you come up with answers to these and such related questions?

Meanwhile i'll give link to couple of old posts to read and yes even you can search for these answers in the blog.....

https://kantipadam.blogspot.in/search?q=on+wishes+not+fulfilled

P.S : Usually people ask for reiki when in trouble or when a person is serious but hardly come back to tell that the person is dead/recovered or when the situation is solved......you came back with the notice and that is good attitude ....do continue with that nature not only with me but with one and all....these little habits/attitudes count and make up your character........

On legacy!

Now coming to legacy – Is Gandhiji’s legacy carried forward by his sons? No! Maybe but no one’s heard about them. But Baba Amte who’s living his Ideals is his heir. Like-wise, every individual inspired by his Ideals of non-violence leads life so carried his legacy and that way he is inspiring people all over the world. Now that is legacy. This is the way we become immortal.

Once Alexander heard that if he takes a dip in a certain lake in a certain place he would become immortal. He set out on that journey and reached that lake. Before taking dip in that lake he thought aloud “Can a simple dip in this lake make me immortal?”

To that he heard a crow answer “Yes. You can. I did thousands of years ago and here I am cursed by immortality living on”.

Alexander was surprised. He said “You should be glad that you are immortal. Why do you say it’s a curse?”

Crow said “Because of immortality I have frozen the way I was then forever with no change. I don’t age. I don’t grow old. And trust me; changelessness is the biggest curse you can live with. You are still lucky. You can change, grow old, decay, die and be born again. You can embrace life in all its form. But not me!”

Alexander sat on these thoughts all through the night and morning left he place without taking dip in that lake.

May you make choices that would inspire millions down the line..........

May you leave behind a legacy that can change the course of events in the sands of time.....

On legacy!

Then why does ‘Divinity’ only shine through them? Why they are called “Divine Incarnations” or Gods child and not us? Are we not children of the same God? Then, why this difference?

Yes, both Ravana and Gandhi are children of same God. Yet inspite of having greater abilities, knowledge, strength and achievements in life, Ravana is not called great, whereas Gandhiji is. He, Gandhi was a simple mortal living in rags but his simplicity and conviction on non-violence shook the British Empire by unifying this great nation like never before. The world just watched the power of love win over hatred and military regime. His simple smile and purity of intent was the seed of miracle that the world witnessed. He let the quality of ‘love’ and ‘non-violence’ of the Divine shine through him like no one before. So, he became Mahatma. Many countries regained their independence but no where the leader who was instrumental in gaining independence to that nation became ‘Mahatma’.

Take anybody’s character. It is the same way they let some Divine quality express through them. So, you too can develop these qualities and raise to their levels of ‘greatness’ and you too can perform the little miracles that they performed (I am calling them little because when quality of character is developed powers to perform these miracles come automatically and incidental to few of the qualities and then these miracles look very little like as kid lifting a chair is great but as an adult it is common like-wise). The necklace that I buy and the million worth slippers (I saw a business tycoon’s daughter wear a sandals worth a crore) are both mine. Yet I wouldn’t wear my slipper around my neck. Would I? (I can and then you know what to call me....) both being mine and expensive, I would treat them differently. Why? Similarly both Ravana and Rama being His, God would treat them differently for the qualities that they choose to express! So you see Divine Incarnations are not what they are because of their abilities – but they are so for the choices that they made over the time and the qualities of character that they developed over the period of time!

On legacy!

Dear ones, I’ve said million times and yet I repeat – once again – “One is not great or spiritual because he performs miracles. One performs miracles because he is great!”

There is a difference. Read it 100 times but get the meaning straight. Let me put it a bit differently. “All people who perform miracles are not great or spiritual but great people can perform miracles. I said they can perform miracles not need to perform miracles. So some great person may choose not to perform miracles too but that doesn’t mean he is not great!”

And ‘great’ one is not because of miracles but because of his character or qualities of his nature which reflect one or few of qualities of the Divine. Like say

Jesus – forgiveness and love (not because he could heal or perform miracles)

Buddha – for his love for animals, trees and being balanced

Paramacharya – for showing no leniency towards self and working towards developing qualities that are required to develop purity of character in a person – say self-restraint etc

Paramahamsa – his highest levels of concentration that was the basis of his being successful in experiencing God through every path or devotion.

Purity, honesty, being truthful, self-restraint, being above any or many vices like anger, greed, judging etc are some of the qualities that reflect the ‘divinity’ through these personalities. That is what makes them ‘great’. Not their powers or abilities to perform such acts make them great!

Now what do you leave behind? Your ‘good deeds, noble thoughts, inspiring words, acts of empathy’ that’s touched or changed the way someone thinks, feels – well that would be the ‘real legacy’. We each may not become (we all can but choose not to) Jesus or Mother Theresa but we can certainly make few positive effects in the society in our own little ways.

Just close your eyes and go back on your lineage. You may not go behind your great grand father. But Bhishma who didn’t marry, to him every Indian gives tarpanam (an act of leaving water which is religious in nature but which symbolises our show of gratitude to that great soul who worked for the well-being of Bharatavarsha (India as it was called in Vedic times). We thank our Gurus be it Guru Nanak, Jesus, Shankaracharya who left their mortal bodies centuries ago – why? Because we owe our understanding, knowledge to these spiritual beings who kept the beckon of ‘spiritual light’ glowing in this land of ‘wisdom and spirituality’ since aeons.

Why do we chant the names of these great personalities – be it Rama, Paramahamsa, Paramacharya, Ajmer Baba and like? Because of their achievements? No! Not even because of the miracles that they performed. It is the people at lowest level who admire, fall at feet and think that people who perform “miracles are great” – NO!

These are the same people who talk highly of others as “He is great, he knows telepathy or he scanned the whereabouts of his dog” but if his own family member does any of these things and that too on daily basis, then they just brush it aside with “Oh, ok” and then very conveniently forget these incidents too so that they can go ahead and judge them their way. They are afraid that if they accept that their family member also does these ‘miracles’ then they would have to stop treating (read as ill-treating) them the present way.

All this nonsense could be put to rest if only our definition of ‘great’ person was right.

On legacy!

Legacy is not about changing the world – necessarily in huge way but even if I cause few ripples to happen I’ll live on till that ripple effect exists. For don’t we say “It is MY thought. I believe in this PRINCIPLE, I live for this IDEA”. Then even when I drop this physical vehicle am I not living if my thoughts live on? Think about it!

Legacy is usually thought of as ‘leaving behind something physical’. This is the understanding that causes one to leave behind statues (on which birds sit and ...), buildings/streets named after them (the name stays many times but people forget the person on whom it is named), construct various public utility buildings and most importantly they want ‘sons’ who would take ahead their legacy. Please sit on these thoughts. Do you think such a legacy is good enough? I am not saying there are not required. Children are important but also see that they come out as ‘good’ citizens, more than ‘successful ones’. Construct schools etc but don’t think that is enough. Do these acts as a ‘payback’ to society. You owe it to it so you are giving back but don’t treat it as your legacy.

It’s like few of my students who said “maam, you must have done financial healing a lot, you are receiving money from me today” – this they say when they pay fees after couple of years for the course that they have taken long back and then benefitted from it all along! Just imagine, I’ve to do financial healing to get ‘my fees’! Do you deserve your salary or do financial healing to receive that every month? If you are asked to work for few years and paid part payment of your salary with the taunt “You are so lucky you are taking away my money” from your boss, how would you feel?

So doing such charities (?) don’t count as your ‘punya karma’, they are just your debts that you owe to the society at large!

On legacy

J.R.D.Tata was once asked by a (insensitive should I add) journalist “You don’t have a heir. Then what about your empire? Who’ll take care of it?” to which JRD replied “I don’t consider legal heirs as rightful heirs. The rightful one would be one who has capability to run my empire”.

“Your question doesn’t raise you but your answer can!”

A normal mortal would put importance on a legal heir or ‘own son’ and God! What heights do such people go to procure one ‘heir’ – especially son! It just degrades them to depths that we can’t even measure or want to gauge now!

But a person who is not living at physical level but has risen to an intellectual or mental level would answer so! Buddha is not remembered by his ‘Gothra’ but by his ‘Ideals and Ideas’ and that is what is inspiring millions of people even after couple of thousand years after he is gone...is he gone then? He lives on in his Ideas which get transferred from one generation to next. I may not know his name, principles, ideals or existence but if I am ready to lay down my life for a tree or an animal, I am ‘his student’ – I am living his principle – I am keeping him alive through my acts and life and which in turn will inspire few more and this torch is passed on from one generation to another – never to end.

Question time again!

Question time again!

So, be confident of your understanding at this stage. Only if you are sure of your reasoning here can you move further on. And at every level, answer has various shades and angels to it. When you receive or pool all understanding and perspectives you have a larger picture. You also learn to see the question from various angles next time. And over the period you would cover more area than now and that would be your achievement or proof of your growth. Because every reasoning and understanding reflects your priorities, your perspective, your stand and principles and all this put together reflect who you are at a given point of time. And this growth reflects in your life, your inner peace, your stance too!

One more point when you are answering don’t answer to please me or think “I should give an answer that she wants to listen”. There is no such answer. Give an answer that reflects your opinion, how you feel, how you would react/respond in that given situation and your understanding of that/such person/s or situation. As long as your answer depends on pleasing others your character is in doldrums. Just imaging if you say “show me the person and I’ll frame you the rule” then that rule is no rule – it is being hypocritical, playing to the gallery, trying to please the other and these qualities take us away from “Dharma” and any character which is not based on “Dharma” is no character. My principles can’t be wavering. If they are, then it means I don’t have one. Remember that! So answer only what you ‘think’ is right or how you would feel or react not what I want to listen.

This honesty over the period of time will itself give you strength to work towards Dharma eventually. So relax!

So I repeat regarding answering “Don’t fake it”.

There are enough of ‘dhongi sadhus’ out there fooling people and themselves with these types of answers. Its better I don’t have any student than have some who become experts in churning out answers that pleases the ears of the listener.

And whatever be the reason for which I am asking you these questions like – my leela, I am in mental distress or any reason that you can churn out – don’t give weightage to that. Whatever be the reason your answer should be same. So just remember your ‘way of thinking’ and how you would react while answering such questions. That’s all!

And will wait till others come with their explanations and see if I have to cover any base. Till then keep reasoning, question right and sharing.......

P.S: your every answer pleases me if that is what you want to hear!

Question time again!

Question time again!

Then what does?

Change in attitude and character. And that comes with the way we think, behave, feel and talk. And that can happen only when the person goes within and does some ‘useful sensible thinking’. And to do that he may not even have to do any of the above acts of external nature. He may just read or listen to one sentence/story of mine/his Guru/from any quarter like even Ad and work on it (mentally) in a sensible way. This will over the period decrease the useless chatter in his brain, leave behind useless and senseless way of thinking and embrace better way of thinking.

Your purpose of reading this blog, attending reiki class, being a reiki channel – all this, serve their purpose to this end only. Just reading it daily religiously wouldn’t serve the purpose of changing the character, if it (reading) doesn’t give you a different perspective, if it doesn’t question your existing way of thinking, if you are not challenged to think from a better and broader perspective. And, these replies of yours, just does that job. I find just handful of you answer – always. If others are just reading then its’ time they make a change in their way of thinking. If they are thinking but are lazy/shy/afraid to air in public, then its’ good that they are part of this exercise but time that they work on their such attitude because that could be their ‘main’ reason for not being /getting where they want to be or what they want to get.

And to those of you who are participating – bless you as always!

Just remember, if you are afraid/apprehensive/doubtful while answering work on that attitude and I am sure you would overcome that weakness of yours in near future.

There can not be a wrong answer – remember that – atleast after such a long journey and at this juncture. Every answer would be right. How? Because, it would be told from a certain point of view based on that level of understanding and experience. At that level it would be good. It’s just that I or other may come up with a better or broader perspective of that issue. That’s all! Atleast you would know how to cover more areas next time. You never are wrong here. You only learn – MORE here!

Question time again!

Question time

Common statement that I get ot hear often is “I hear xyz talk/discourse regularly on TV, see/watch all episodes of Mahadev/Krishna (God knows what other ‘Godly’ serial is aired), go to Shirdi/Tirupathi/some temple once a week/quarter/yearly regularly, read all religious messages forwarded in whatsapp, am in xyz group (considered spiritual) in FB/whatsapp or some social site and like and yet my life is miserable as ever”.

Others may not say they are miserable but flaunt these acts ‘itself as’ achievements or as proofs to their being ‘good’ or ‘great souls’ following religious rules/traditions.

If it were to be true your mobile/simcard would be enlightened by now. Your Google would’ve become ‘living God’ (it is, to many already). I am not asking you to ‘NOT DO’ these things/acts. I am not against them. I am not for it either. But I am just saying “simply doing them will get you nowhere. They wouldn’t change the course of your destiny. Your wish can’t be fulfilled by these acts. As explained many times, we receive/don’t receive everything in our life based on our attitudes and character. “Your character writes your destiny”. And these small acts don’t change your attitudes or character in any way – in fact they may harm you more than doing goo. Yes – it is true! Because we get to fall into the assumption trap that we’ve done enough to be ‘good’ and deserve only ‘good’ henceforth in life. We assume we’ve fulfilled the criteria or done essential duties to receive our bonus.

But just these acts don’t increase our qualification to receive our ‘bonus’.

Then what does?

on praising others...

further to the comment :

Here, i would say i wouldn't answer this now...

let's go about in search of this answer in a bit different way....

You people say you 'believe' and have 'faith' in me......let's 'assume' that to be true 100% for this time....then it means you 'believe' my word - right? Then based on that assumption 'my statement' is already 'right'. Now it is for you to come up with examples and reasons to prove it or your understanding that it is true......

It is like in maths. We take the 'hypothesis' and go around proving it by various ways. similarly, I want you to listen and look around you for instances when people 'praise' you or others and then - well you know what and how to go about from there......

in short, you tell why 'praising' others is called the curse of kaliyuga......how it is harmful..........

will wait till you come back with your experience...

Question time again!

On being useful and successful!

Please clarify :

I received a wonderful gift this Diwali from someone ‘special’. During our conversation the person said “You do rangoli, cook well (because the person realized I cook some items that people are supposed to buy only over the counter) blah blah blah....what is the ‘use’ of all this talent since you are not anyhow ‘successful’ (huge stress was on the successful)....me not knowing anything is same as you knowing everything....i ‘pity’ you and your life”...

Now I at no point said anything as ‘me being great because of knowing xyz or having any ability....yet....what does that statement of ‘not being successful’ mean? Why ‘pity’?

What am I supposed to infer and how am I supposed to take it and apply it in my life?

I am sure few of you must have had brush with such ‘good and sound’ advice in your life....how did you deal with it?

Thank you in advance......

On Diwali!

On Diwali

Let’s light up ‘a favour’ this Diwali – in our lives....

As kids most of you must of read ‘Munshi Premchand’s’ short story ‘Idhgah’. It is a very touching story where a poor boy waits all through the year to buy himself something in the village fair that is called ‘Idgah’ because it is set during ‘Id’ – the festive time and instead buys his mother ‘chimta’ (tongs to hold utensils) for he remembers that she is ever burning her fingers while cooking. If you haven’t read it then read that story – a must read for everyone....

Now coming to our story, can we light up someone’s life too during this Diwali? Fine, those who are already vexed with that expression of ‘oh one more lectures on donating /charity’ don’t bother to read further. Relax! This is not for you! You go ahead and enjoy your festival your way...just be happy the way it pleases you......

And for those you want to make it more than just a festival to ‘enjoy with family and friends’....well, here is the suggestion...you need not even take out huge amounts of money...just take few crackers from the pile that you have purchased (already) – say couple of flowerpots, few sparkles, couple of bombs maybe – just about a handful of this and that and make a pile of those things. Next ask your neighbours to do the same and pool all these things (crackers) in a place. Don’t force anyone to give specific cracker – even a small coloured match box will do.  Put all flowerpots in a box or a packet and likewise put each of specific cracker in a single box or cover and take these to the nearest old age home or an orphanage and give it to them to enjoy...you can also give couple of simple diyas with little bottle of oil (each one giving a little of each) could light up their entire place for couple of days...

If you don’t talk to your neighbours then this is the time to talk and with a good cause....

If you find making friends with them painful and labourious then each of you has a ‘whatsapp group’ into which you can put this suggestion and pool the resources and do the needful.....each group can end up giving to the nearest orphanage and there by may be you can light up more than one place.....

and for those who say 'we don't burn crackers because we are environmental friendly' well to them - just as you spend it with loads of sweats and new dresses make it possible for the less priviledged to celebrate this festival the same way - share sweats and fruits with the orphanage (and yes even this you can pool up with your various gangs/groups)

This ‘Diwali’ as you light up your homes make an effort to light up your hearts too......light up a favour and receive ‘blessings’ your way.....Dhanteras and Diwali is the time when Mother Lakshmi gives abundance to each according to his ‘karma’ and eligibility....and this is the best way to increase your eligibility........

But as I heard someone tell  “to me it doesn’t matter if it gets converted into ‘blessing’ or not...just a look of joy on those kids faces lights up my entire year...”

and yes for every little bit of your 'sharing' with those kids, trust me you have wished me 'Happy Diwali' the right way - not just in paper but in true spirit....and you can see 'my smile' in every smile that you have lighted up.......thankyou for lighting up my world this way........

On self Learning - Me, My Guru

She said 'Biggest curse of 'kali yuga' is not that it is so....it is because of the 'attitudes' that become a fashion and in-thing in each one of us that makes it really impossible for us to gain our Divinity....and one such quality is 'fault-finding' and its' twin is 'to praise others....

Tip for growth!

A Mantra so simple that you can miss it as ‘nothing’ worth pursuing....

Don’t judge yourself harshly. Just accept your nature without justifying them. And never compare yourself with others not even your self that you long to be or working towards being. Just be in sadhan and one day you’ll be surprised you are what you set out to be – it may be months down the line or may be years. Don’t look into that probable future date now! Just take one step at a time.

This is no pep talk. This is no life-coach giving you some ‘good to hear’ hallow words or promises.

This is ‘certainty’ that you realize one day. You are part of that ‘event’ today and hence are not able to see it as clearly as me.

But the day you have done this ‘ride’ and gotten out of this train, you can see this whole picture clearly. Trust me, mark today and your today’s status. Same day next year check your status – it is bound to be far beyond your present day expectations! Still doubting!

Well, check your today’s status (your mental, character, attitude, psychological etc) with same day last year.

Do it and then come back to me if your findings vary with my statement.............

**TC : Only if in regular sadhan!

One step at a time!

Contd.........

One step at a time

Bring big changes with small steps!

In spiritual area, regarding sadhan - start with ½ an hour/day. In this include 5mts re-birth, 5mts homam, 5 mts EH and then 15mts hands on.

Again, this homam do in the morning and include vaasthu healing while doing homam (yes in the same 5mts you can do it too)

5mts re-birth do at night before going to bed – good for sleep too and time not wasted during day. Then put hands on your body and enjoy sleep. This way hands-on for couple of points can be done daily.

Next in lunch in office, while in travel, watching TV, while talking to someone do hands-on. Your quote for hands-on can be easily completed this way!

Before starting your dinner (at home) do EH and start eating.

See you are done for the day and so effortlessly too!

(Those of you who are already doing 1-2hrs of sadhan PLEASE don’t fall back to this routine saying ‘maam said so am doing it for only ½ an hour’! This is only for people who are NOT ABLE to do sadhan AT ALL with various excuses)

Once this routine sets, just increase 2 points of hands-on every month and before long you would be able to include sadhan into your routine effortlessly and with no stress too!

Hope it is clear!

If you have any ‘change’ which you are not able to bring about, then share with us and I am sure someone who has worked on it already would share and explain how to break that change into parts and apply it!

Agreed you’ve fallen many times trying to take huge leaps and you are hurt a lot!

Time we stop that strategy and make small changes bring about huge shifts in our lives...............

At the end of the day, if you can say "I'am definitely not the same person i was when this year started", then trust me 'you've grown to be a better person' and your returns is just that change that you have brought about in yourself........you don't need any external things to validate this benefit.....you already did!

And when does this game stop? I've found that 'whenever i've felt or believed that i've learnt to live, LIFE CHANGES' and then I am back to square one. Yes, time to change and let life happen to me......but then what would be life without any change? Think about it!

Concluded.............

one step at a time!

One step at a time

Bring big changes with small steps!

.....contd....

Follow this new time for minimum of 48 days including Sundays and off-days.

If on any day you miss getting up, don’t feel bad, just punish your body with a beneficial regime like –

-15mts walk
-climbing 3 floors
-doing 10 pushups (more than your usual number)

Something like that. This way you can avoid experiencing guilt, at the same time benefit with this ‘good punishment’.

Next, if you become comfortable with this regime, then get up 15mts earlier – say 6 a.m now. Follow it for atleast 48 days or 2-3 months if need be. Follow it till you hit your mark of 5.30am. It may take 48 days for some and 6mths for another. No problem. You just look at your notice. Love the journey too, so take time to accept and enjoy this change slowly instead of making it overnight and suffering it – meaning hating it.

Same step to be followed for or in other ares too!

Say in financial – you want to save. Instead of starting with 2000 pm. You can start with say Rs.200pm R.D. then gradually over the months move to your desired figure.

You can avoid wastage like-wise. If you eat out say, 4 times/week, start with 3 times/week and go to your target of eating 4 times/ month only.
