Aviary in and around Hyderabad - Watching Birds

For those interested in going to an Aviary in Hyderabad, these are a few good spots to go bird watching in an aviary –

Nehru Zoological park – one of the good ones – not sure about its present state though

Kandlakoya Oxygen Park near Medchal

One of the biggest bird and aquatic park coming up in Kothwalguda – don’t know if it is open to public yet

Very good one at Ramoji film city (last part of the entire trip) and there is a beautiful butterfly park there too…

And then there is Public Gardens in Nampally. Entry was free then. Check now. There is a Bird park there. Small but good. An added incentive of visiting this place is seeing an “Egyptian Mummy” – wow! For those who think going to Egypt and seeing one is a far away dream, do visit this place to see this. Very good experience!

If you want to see birds in their natural habitat then go to KBR Park (any time of the day and take food if you want to go on picnic – it’s worth having one there).

Then, go to Shamirpet Lake early in the morning or at sunset – you’ll find lots of birds – especially migratory ones at that time.

Of course, we have our own special place of all times – our tank bund – the necklace roadside to view birds and their water antics!!!

There must be a few more for sure in the city that I haven’t mentioned. But, the point is no need to feel bad that you are not able to go to Chandigarh’s Bird aviary as shared by one among you. The question is have you been to one in your area yet?

Have you enjoyed what is within your reach?

In the same way, wherever you are staying presently, you surely must be having something similar in your vicinity. The question is have you been there? And the next question is "if it is so close to you, why not go more often? What stops you from enjoying the little pleasures available to you at an arms distance?"
