Kabir ke dohe - On maaya and freedom!
Maaya mari na man mara
Mar mar gaye sharer
Aasha trishna na mari
Kah gaye sant kabir
माया मरी ना मन मरा
मर मर गए शरीर
आशा तृष्णा ना मरी
कह गए संत कबीर।
Neither maya has died nor has mind
death has come again and again to this body
desire and craving hasn't died
So said Sant Kabir!
Such an apt dohe after Shivarathri - fasting and being awake!
What is that we are doing with our life?
How are we living our Vedic philosophy?
How are we understanding and interpreting our Vedic rituals in our lives?
If we are doing everything right, then as Kabir das says, we should have outgrow at least a little if not completely our weaknesses of anger, lust, greed, jealousy, cravings, desire. Are we working on understanding our mind thereby knowing how to overcome its hold on us?
