Self-love and selfishness!

We mistake selfishness for self-love! Both are not the same!

Self-love:

A person can love self only when he knows who he is!

How can you love something that you don’t know?

We are so used to desiring and wanting things that we don’t know anything about. And in the same way, we think by knowing there is ‘self’ or ‘atman’ as some name it, we already own it and love it!!??

First, one should know what one is. We should then experience it! Isn’t it funny, odd, ironic and interesting to know that we are not experiencing ourselves? 

We live through our lives without ever even having a slight brush with ourselves??? And only then, will we be able to love us. Well, here it is bit easy job. Because, we don’t have to put in an effort to love ourselves. For just knowing ourselves we will also know our “swaroopa” nature itself to be “love”. Then, only then will we know what love is and loving is!!!
