Self-love and selfishness!

And when we love ourselves this way, there is no way we can harm any other person in the world! For we will find ourselves in everyone!!! We become everyone! And that includes every life form in the Universe!

And in the other extreme to this state is “selfishness”. It is totally dependent on the assumption that we are separate from the other! We identify ourselves with what is pleasing and dear to us. It may many times also include all that we call our “own” like our relations, possessions, achievements and desires! And in the “good intention” of protecting our ‘own’ we end up hurting all and sundry whom we assume to be responsible or seem threat to our identity! Here, we even go to the extent of killing the other for our benefit – sometimes!

This is exactly the reason why a person hurts, insults, manipulates, lies, cheats, dishonours and exploits the other.

So, you see self-love is so very different from selfishness!
