all others were anyhow going to pour glass of milk, no one would notice if I
pour one glass of water. It wouldn’t matter much. I mean, after all, how much
difference would one glass of water make?’ and each ended up thinking so and
doing so. The result is for you to see!” explained wise-minister.
The King was sadly disappointed and was lost in thoughts for sometime
and then asked “But each one is prosperous and I am giving all facilities
A-grade. Then why are they not able to give even one glass of milk to State?”
The King was obviously heart-broken was equally confused. He couldn’t
understand his citizens. He felt at loss. But the minister came to his aid and
replied “Giving to State has got nothing to do with material riches that person
possesses. It has got to do with ‘identity’. Does he ‘identify’ himself as ‘a
part of his Nation’ or as a benefactor of his Nation ONLY.
One who owns up responsibility of Nation is one who believes he is part
of Nation. It is him who says “ask not what your country has given you; ask
what you have given to the Nation’. But the one who doesn’t think ‘he is
Nation’ wants to use Nation for his benefit but doesn’t realize ‘Nation’
doesn’t have an ‘Identity’ of its own. Its people maketh ‘A Nation’ what it is!
But alas! When a person thinks only of himself or only his family as his own,
then he would suffer with anything and everything that has to do with his
‘doing for the Nation’”.

Things I've learnt today from this post is :
1)Responsibility comes before privilege
2)Identifying our selves with the nation
3)Believe yourself to be a part of the nation

I just wanted to reiterate one more important part of asking this question is ..
*EVEN AFTER KNOWING THAT MOST OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WHICH IS BEING TAXED BUT NOT BEING UTILIZED PROPERLY AND BEING POCKETED BY THOSE IN POWER.."
IT'S BEEN GIVEN TO THOSE SO CALLED RICH PEOPLE LIKE MMMALLAYAA'S WHO RUN AWAY FROM THE COUNTRY & 100'S OF CRORES OF RUPEES WHICH WAS GIVEN AS LOAN IS BEING WAIVED OFF BY BANKS AS BAD DEBTS" (While i agree that these ppl also generate thousands of job opportunities but that total amount paid as salaries is peanuts when compared to the amount of money they launder!)
CM's WANT TO SEND 1000 OFFICERS! TO ISRAIL TO LEARN ABOUT EFFECTIVE FARMING TECHNIQUES AT THE COST OF 25 CRORES, IN TURN WHY CANT THEY CALL 10 OF THE BEST PEOPLE FROM THERE AND ASK THEM TO TEACH US HERE ?
ALTERNATIVELY
BILLION DOLLAR WORTH COMPANIES DAY IN AND OUT USE SO MANY EFFECTIVE VIDEO CALLING TECHNIQUES (WHICH ARE 100% EFFECTIVE) TO GIVE DEMO'S ON THEIR PRODUCTS etc.. EVEN THIS CAN BE USED AS WELL...
SPENDING 3000 CRORES TO BUILD SOME PERSON'S STATUE , CONSTRUCT AN ARTIFICIAL ISLAND ETC.. THOSE MAHAPURUSH FOUGHT FOR SOME OTHER AGENDA AND EVEN LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES BUT TODAY THESE POLITICAL PARTIES ERRECT STATUES UNNECESSARILY ONLY TO SHOW PUT UP THEIR PUFFED UP EGO! Tourism will take 50 years to get back the amount invested to construct this so this seems to be a very meaningless idea to construct! Wondering why ministers don't understand this..
NEW NAUTANKI TO GIVE MORE RESERVATIONS TO MOSLIMS, ST etc.. most probably for vote banking for next elections which are soon scheduled
ALL THIS MONEY CAN BE EASILY DIVERTED FOR UPLIFTMENT OF POOR, TO HELP FARMERS, BETTER ROADS, WATER PIPELINES, EDUCATION SYSTEM..

and it is not 'believe yourself to be part of the Nation' but KNOWING yourself to be part of the Nation....
2nd point is : Percentage of tax is more! Direct taxes are there but almost all of our day to day transactions too are taxed (Indirect taxes) ..
My income - Taxed
My Profession - Taxed
My Purchases - Taxed
My Savings - Taxed
My Pension/PF - Taxed
My Assets/Property - Taxed
This seems more like exploitation and not taxing.
I remember one of your posts where it said about donation :
If we know that other person is going to misuse the amount you give, he is buying alcohol etc.. then you are trying to be an accomplice and this is not donation.
I mean the lines what you have written is different but intention was to donate wisely and not blindfold...
When donating to wrong person is bad karma then how is it that it becomes my responsibility to pay taxes to nation even after knowing that most of it is being misused? Am I not an accomplice here?
I'm sorry mam, I know I cannot directly draw an inference to both these topics. But I still somewhere do not understand how giving in one case is wrong and giving in other case is kind of mandatory/dharma/responsibility?

Many people are against this taxing system but are unable to voice out in lack of guidance. Problem is not about giving our hard earned money , problem is the amount it goes from our pockets and the way its being utilized.
I remember you posting few weeks back "If you have time to worry, you have time to pray". I/We want to follow your advice and change our behavior / approach towards this.
Can you please enlighten us on this? I'm posting this here so that everyone can learn :)
Only Mahapurush like you can give us clarity on such topics, Day in & out so many well famed economists keep debating about our economy but nothing actually comes in results. It's just in theories or shall I say that the ministers do not heed their advice?
We need your guidance in approaching this issue with correct attitude etc.. Please do write in detail mam.. Please..

Seems to be a coincidence today :) We both are commenting at the same time :)
Also mam, I've heard many times that God has given us Free Will, I know over the time/janmas we all humans have screwed up our Viveka Buddhi and hence do all such bad karma but how is it that God being all intelligent gave us free will without Viveka Buddhi or the knowledge/wisdom to use that free will correctly?
Today these politicians do all this bad karma, Tomorrow these only go to guru's and keep crying for good health, better lives etc... This seems to be a never ending cycle! (Kind of what we all are doing in front of you)
SO this entire samsara chakra itself seems faulty!
There seems to be a defect in Start/Seed of action then how will the journey be correct? One person's madness is effecting him and all others too.
