Seeking your help!
It happened once
again recently ....someone said “...but you have nothing to do the whole day.
Don’t you feel like a waste?”
I replied “well, I actually write a blog and it sort of takes whole of my waking hours....”
“So, do you earn for it? Do you get paid for it?” was the immediate question.
That sort of sealed my answer with just “no” and they said “so, you are literally doing nothing! That’s what I am saying ‘Don’t you feel like a liability?”
I didn’t have an answer for that. Nor do I have now. I also didn’t have one when I have been asked similar question over few years. They are in a way right. I mean literally speaking, it is true! Though I am engaged in a work almost throughout the day, I am also jobless as I am not paid for it......so, they saying “you do nothing” are in a way right, as I don’t do any ‘productive job’ – productive in a way of earning.
So, what do you
think should be my answer?
How should I take it?
Where do I place myself?
What is my worth, if at all I have any?
When I am assessed by others, well, what do I do to save my face?
Am I just a liability?
Hoping to find
some clue in your answers........

How should I take it?
First thing please don't take them serious since they are seeing in terms of money.
In fact if we see your doing a very productive job with out charging them because
1.no one explains the things that you have explained so clearly .
2. I am sorry to say this may the learned scholars forgive me but if a topic is given most of the people do not have the knowledge about the topic asked in the question but pose as though they know everything but they are just pretending and do not have the clarity to answer
3. Ignore them mam

You are a person who is doing the job with out any expectations you are helping those people who are not reiki channels tooo through this job in a way you working for the betterment of world
What is my worth, if at all I have any?
You are as worthy as this universe

Give them a wide smile I saw one person in my life doing it to me and I feel he is very smart to do that because by doing that he is indirectly saying paapam pichidi na viluva diniki emtelusu and I started realising he is indeed very valuable
Am I just a liability?

What ever I have understood of the questions posed I have written the answers if I have said some thing wrong please forgive me.
This is really sad. People judge everything in currency these days! Of course, when in their own lives, they value money alone and nothing else, how can they ever understand the value of wisdom or knowledge.
We often hear the following:
"This doctor is really good, he charges RS.5000 per session"
"This pujari is very good, he drives a car unlike others"
And the worst -
"His in-laws are very good, they gifted him a BMW"
If reiki students like us (who are not even regular with their sadhan) can financially heal themselves in months, for a master like you it would be a matter of 5 mins. Yet, you chose a path to take us one step closer to realising God, many times forgoing your own interests. Can anyone put a pricetag to that?
You should ask them why are they feeling so unsettled about your vocation? Is it because this is something they want to do, but just can't?

Every one knows Making money is not the sole purpose of any one's life, ofcourse it's important and needed to fulfill few basic needs but we should not measure everything with money. So not being productive-financially DOES NOT MEAN your wasting your time.
You are investing your time in giving such great knowledge to your shishyas which CANNOT BE MEASURED in terms of Money.
(Highest of all giving is the giving away of knowledge of self – of Brahman. It’s the esoteric knowledge and very few are capable of giving)

What is my worth, if at all I have any?
Your place and worth does not depend on the amount of money you make. It depends on the kind/type of contribution you make to any individual/society/country.This may seem philosophical and unpractical but this is TRUE.
For Ex : Narayan Murthy of Infosys earns just 1 rupee per year does it mean that he is worth just 1 rupee? NO right? Hopefully everyone who asked you this question realizes this.
Sometimes a person and his ideas, thoughts, advises, Talent etc.. are such which has no measure in terms of money but it helps scores of other people and drives huge organizations and process.
This is where your worth lies..Your place is so high that any amount of money cannot be enough to balance it.
Your Blog ,your thoughts, suggestions ideas etc make lives better for hundreds of people, makes them independent for life, Makes them feel responsible for things they have and responsibilities they have to take, Society at large is benefiting from this.
You are teaching all of your shisyas the art of fishing
Fishing, Opportunities in failures/bad situations & The correct way of living life inspite of hard times they face etc...
SUCH GREAT IS YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

Assessment is in the eye of assessor. If his/her views are bland then its not your fault.
Assessor has to see both sides of coin. If he/she only looks at money then he is not assessing you cent percent. His assessment is incorrect and not complete.

Imagine a market where only Gold is sold, If a bag full of Coal is brought there and no one buys it , does it mean coal has lost its value and is of no use?
No right? Coal has its value irrespective of whether someone recognizes it or not.
Similarly you would not loose your value if you stop blogging or if we stop identifying your worth.
You always carry your worth and others may/may not recognize it.

I dont really know how to put it. This question takes me back in time to when I was 17.I had a lump in my throat when my grand mother told me "Now I cant do much household work or cooking. I have raised my children and they are all settled. I am of no use. I can die now". I could feel tears rolling down my cheek out of anger and despair. But I couldnt explain to her how bad it was to hear that.
When we appreciate or thank you for the effort put in the blog or teachings, it doesn't mean thats all to your life. Our work is just a way or medium of expressing ourselves. If the expression changes or ceases to exist, the person doesn't change. Every positive thought in your mind generates eternal positivity in the Universe.
A rose is a rose. Whether it is gifted for valentines day, adorns a God's garland, is used in marital vows, is kept in flower vase for decoration, is put on someones coffin, or grows in the forest and degenerates on its own (where no one really looks at it). These roses are no different from each other. One is not superior or inferior because of the way it is used. A rose just is. They blossom because that is in their nature. The roses in the forest donot blossom less or are less fragrant in sadness that no ones looking. Whether God gives them an opportunity to channelize themselves into a garland where people appreciate them, doesnt cause them any pain or stress.
Like roses, we are all beautiful creations of God. Our only responsibility in life is to respect Gods creation, be happy and peaceful. The work we choose to express ourselves is our choice and karma.
My grandmothers existence or the fact that i could touch and see her was enough for me to want her around for centuries. But she thought her only use was that she could cook and thats her value in my eyes. I wish I could explain this to her. How could I? Its taken me years of reiki to understand this myself.
