Contd....
Similarly,
Vishwamitra after doing penance for 1000 years without food or water would
break the fast by eating one day and then continue the penance along with
fasting for next 1000 years. This way, he did intense tapas for 4000 years and
earned immense ‘energy’ and Indra (Lord of Heaven) frightful of losing his seat
sent Maneka to entice him and break his penance. She followed his command, did
same and Sage lost his concentration and led a conjugal life forgetting his
mission for many years. When he was blessed with a daughter, named her
Shakuntala and then he became of the state he had reduced himself to and left
Maneka and his daughter to continue his ‘tapas’.
So, you see
people of that stature had also faltered many times before they realized their
‘full potential’ and ‘mission of life’.
Does that mean I
can relax saying ‘if they faltered, so can I?’ no – a big no. What we need to
know here is that ‘temptations of flesh’ is something that we have to address
till the last moment. Falter we will hundred times, fine – but we’ll get up
every time.
गिरनेवाला कमज़ोर सही
गलत नहीं
पर खुद से हारनेवाला
वह होगा कोई और
पर हम नहीं।
Girne wala
kamzor sahi
Galat nahin.
Par khudh se
haarne wala
Woh hoga koi aur
Par hum
nahin.....
One who falls
down certainly can be a weak person
But certainly
not a wrong one.
One who loses to
self –
Well, that would
be some one else...
It certainly is
not ME!
Remember that
always!
You are not
weaklings.
You can’t afford
to!
You are not
‘sheep’ as many believe.
You are ‘lions’.
गिरके ऐसे उठो की डर भी डरके भाग जाए
Girke aise utho
ki dar bhi darke bhaag jaaye....
When you fall,
get up in such a way that fear also runs away with fear.....
