Indian Mythology - Advaitha - God as described by saints following other religions

Contd....

:: Salvation of Gajendra  ::

When the King Elephant, Gajendra,  invoked the DIVINE, without any form or particular attributes, none of the  Deities like Brahma and others, who are conscious about their forms, characteristics  etc.did not go to the rescue of the elephant. It was Sri Hari who includes in  Himself all the deities, who came to the scene. Seeing Sri Hari on His vehicle  Garuda, with discus in hand, the elephant plucked a lotus flower with his trunk  and lifted it up and said

“Narayana, Precepptor of all, Bhagavan, You, endowed  with all powers and
excellences, I bow down to you.”.

So you see when Elephant prays in Bhagavatam in Gajendra Moksham his prayer means “that energy that runs the entire Universe etc...” and no where he calls out to Vishnu and yet Vishnu takes that call. He, elephant doesn’t address Him as ‘Vishnu’ – see that!

(Those interested in listening to complete Gajendra Moksham can listen to this...)

Similarly, in Devi mahatyam, Devi or Mother is prayed to as “Ya Devi sarva bhutesu sakthi rupena samsthita, namastasyai, namastasyai, namastasyai  namo namaha” meaning “To that Goddess who resides in all beings as Shakthi (energy) my Salutions”.

s- “At this rate you may as well state Gods of all religions are one!”

Here I could, hear jest in that students’ voice. Yes, it was a common frustration and irritation that was coming out of a bhaktha of a particular faith. We in our sincerity to serve “The Best” strongly wish to believe and presume that for us to be the greatest devotee, all other devotees (of other faiths) to be wrong or doing pooja to inferior Gods!

“Guru Granth Sahib”  of sikhs states :

Ik Onkar (God is One)
Sat Nam ( His name is True)
Kartaa Purakh (He is the Creator)
Nirbhau (He is without fear)
Nirvair (He is inimical to none)
Akal-murat (He never dies)
Ajooni (He is beyond births and deaths)
Saibhang ( He is self illuminated)
Gurprasaad (He is realized by the kindness of the True Guru)
Jap (Repeat His Name)

Aad sach (He is True in the beginning, (before the anything (universe) existed)
Jugaad sach (He was True when the ages commenced and has ever been True)
Hai bhi sach (He is also True now)
Nanak hosi bhi sach. (Satguru) Nanak (says that) he will be certainly True in the future.)

Listen to this divine hymn if you so wish to experience the soothing power of right prayer :

You can watch Daler Mahendi perform the same with explanation - simply beautiful :

Next, here this hymn from Rigveda :

close your eyes as you listen to all these hymns ....experience the same energy enfolding and engulfing you....

try finding unity in all of them...tell me where there is difference.....

Hi everyone! I found the next stanza of Ek Omkaar online. Sharing it here for everyone's benefit:

sochai soch na hova-ee jay sochee lakh vaar.
By thinking, He cannot be reduced to thought, even by thinking hundreds of thousands of times.

chupai chup na hova-ee jay laa-ay rahaa liv taar.

By remaining silent, inner silence is not obtained, even by remaining lovingly absorbed deep within.

bhukhi-aa bhukh na utree jay bannaa puree-aa bhaar.
The hunger of the hungry is not appeased, even by piling up loads of worldly goods.

sahas si-aanpaa lakh hohi ta ik na chalai naal.
Hundreds of thousands of clever tricks, but not even one of them will go along with you in the end.

kiv sachi-aaraa ho-ee-ai kiv koorhai tutai paal.
So how can you become truthful? And how can the veil of illusion be torn away?

hukam rajaa-ee chalnaa naanak likhi-aa naal.
O Nanak, it is written that you shall obey the Hukam of His Command, and walk in the Way of His Will.
