Reflections - Don’t hurry – Just Be Here!

Reflections - Don’t hurry – Just Be Here!

Just close your eyes. Yes, just NOW!

Now observe yourself. Your body, thoughts, feelings and all of you. What do you see and feel? (Only proceed if you do this exercise).

·        Do you feel the knots in the stomach, heart region or elsewhere?

·        Kind of feeling butterflies in the stomach or in other parts of the body?

·        Are you stressed about anything?

·        Are you restless? Does your restlessness say “I need to do XYZ jobs after this?”

·        Worried about tomorrow?

Now, relax! Take a few deep breaths and relax. Calm down. Wait! Proceed when you are completely or at least relatively calmer.

Now read!

The reason for all the above emotions is only 3 at the most:

1.     The fear of remaining a ‘nobody’.

2.     The fear of ‘what others’ would say’.

3.     Fear of being unable to achieve what one desires – in the future like a house, assets, children, etc.

Because of all these fears we end up hurrying in our lives.

Contd.....

# on slow down need, hurry, anxiety and stress, peace, calm, disturbed mind, calm, meditation, awareness, mindfulness, being aware, beingness, being now and here,

also read the poem in the link given to understand how we miss out on life and complain about not being happy...if we can't relish what we worked for and asked for then what is the purpose of desiring, working for it and achieving?

Questions addressed:

  • What is the need to hurry?
  • How to be relaxed?
  • How to deal with stress, tension and worry?
  • What is the cause of anxiety, stress, worry and fear?
  • What to do to be calm and composed?

Points to understand and apply:
  • Hurry doesn't heal the situation or make it better in any way.
  • Hurry is the cause of tension, stress, worry.
  • Hurry stops you from seeing the solution.
