Reflections – On washing dishes – Stress is avoidable!

Many times, we wrongly hate washing dishes assuming “I don’t like it’. Maybe if you look within, and take a pause, you’ll understand that it is increasing stress in you and that anxiety and stress are something you are uncomfortable with. And that is interpreted as pain and displeasure. And you associate it with dishwashing. And then, you end up disliking it. No doubt, most of us hate such jobs.

But, the main culprit as you see may be the simple pressure of the tap. Just by correcting its flow we can do away with our suffering and dislike at the same time.

On the contrary, maybe you’ll even discover your love for the same!!

Just imagine if the simple pressure of water can trigger so much disturbance in us which is totally and completely avoidable, how much more of such triggers are we living in our daily life?

Maybe, we can’t do away with all of them, but there are also 50% of them we can do away for the start.

So, just for the next 3 days, do your work with awareness. Notice these triggers which are causing anxiety and stress. Notice which is the one that is causing you to hurry. See if the source can be adjusted in any way to decrease your worry or stress. Share your observations with others. Maybe you noticed something that others didn’t! you wouldn’t benefit from this post if I hadn’t written my experience, right? Then pass this to others too. Don’t be the person who only demands or takes from others. In small ways too you can give! Discover the joy of sharing. Know the benefits of sharing by doing it.

    Points to ponder:

    • When we know our pressure points we become aware of our areas of healing.
    • That is half the battle won!
    • All we need to do after that is simply put our 'healing techniques' to good use!
    • And lo! we become free from pain by becoming aware of that pain!
