Reflections - Don’t hurry – Just Be Here!

We are worried about work undone when playing with kids. And hence hurry to play.

We hurry to eat.

We hurry even sleeping.

This hurry adds and creates stress. But, we relate stress with the activities that we do. They are ‘poor simple activities’. They just are! Or, we assume the stress is because of people we dislike in our lives. That too is false!

Think about it!

Meditate on it!

When we are with ‘such people’ we are in a hurry to rush the time spent with them. But, time can’t be rushed. And there friction is created. That causes stress.

Meditate on it!

Take a situation with someone. Look at yourself. And see through your mind games and feelings.

But for now, let’s understand it’s all the ‘hurry’ which is the culprit. So, let’s address it right away.

Questions addressed:

  • Can avoiding the people and situations that irritate or anger me bring peace in my life?

Points to understand and apply:

  • The friction caused between our expectations and their fulfillment is the culprit, not the person or situation per se.
  • Many times, just accepting the person or situation for what they are reduces stress automatically. That in turn eases our life in more than one way.

Hi,
Thank you mam for addressing this topic.
I am always in a hurry. Hurry to complete, hurry to do everything etc etc like said in the post. trying to be in the moment but always the thoughts are what to do next. plan plan and plan. Plan the meals, plan the day etc.
Looking forward for the next post. Hoping I could bring stillness in me.
Doing any technique also makes me think of the things that are left to do.
Looking forward to it.
