But when we suffer, if we think ‘this pain that I suffered shouldn’t be suffered by anyone and so

a. let me work to uplift those who have suffered this pain, inspire them to lead healthier life

b. let me find ways to stop others from suffering this pain by removing the cause of this pain.” Our Guruji replied.

I was confused here. Thankfully someone asked that question on my behalf “how can I find ways to stop others from suffering this pain? What is this about removing the cause?”

***“One person’s son committed suicide as he got less marks in exam. Next day his wife committed suicide as she couldn’t live with the guilt of being a mother who couldn’t protect her son. She felt she wasn’t there for him when he needed her the most. Her guilt drove her to her decision. Seeing her mother dead when she came from college, her daughter committed suicide as she felt there would be no one to love her enough in this world. This man came home to find his world end! 

He performed the rituals and sat thinking on what went wrong. And that drove him to start an NGO in his family’s name and spread the message against suicide in the society. He left his job. He became instrumental in saving so many families. At the end of the day, he goes to an empty house. And occasionally he breaks down too – but lives to make death of his near and dear ones useful and meaningful. By living and spreading this message he works on his guilt too. He spreads their memories as inspiring stories to one and all. He keeps his family alive by keeping so many families alive!, so now tell me if this man can find POL in such a great pain of his life, can’t we from our life’s pain?” our Guru concluded. She was looking far ahead into the space now. We didn’t want to disturb her from her silence.

Questions addressed and point to be taken :

• What attitude is required to convert our break down situations into break through situations?
• If what we hear/see/read doesn't address our problem at hand or if it doesn't seem like a solution to our present problem we don't validate it or try to understand it even - many times!
• If only we see every word that comes to us as 'our message' and start applying it in our life instead trying to use only those of 'useful' messages or messages that we are comfortable to hear/use, we would see that every single time we are given solution and shown the path to walk on in times of our confusion.
• When we seek solutions and answers, we are given.
• Because it doesn't show in the way we expect it to, we put it aside and then cry that 'I am not heard'.
