Me, my Guru – on
Valuing and gratitude
Few days later the
villager came with two gunny bags filled with groceries. He placed it at the
Master’s feet and said “Master, accept this as a gratitude for all I received
till date”.
Master looked at him
with a smile. He asked his student head – Ananda to take it to the kitchen.
Ananda was very happy when he saw the groceries. Now, the students would not go
hungry at least for few days to come. He had those bags shifted to kitchen.
Master was sitting on a
raised seat built under the banyan tree and Nirmaldas was sitting on the ground
just looking at the Master. Before going to look after the affairs of the
ashram Ananda looked at Nirmaldas and asked ‘So, Nirmaldas looking at the
bounty it seems you’ve done good business in the last month!’ Ananda said these
words and left. Hearing those words Nirmaldas’s expression changed from that of
joy to that of pain. He looked at Master’s face. There was smile as usual.
Nirmaldas felt disturbed. He bowed to the Master, sought his permission to
leave and left without a word.
After few months
Nirmaldas came again. This time he brought carload of groceries. He also
brought bales of cloth in it. He left the cart at a distant. That day Master
was sitting under the banyan tree looking into the accounts of the ashram.
Ananda and few of the students were present there. These were the students who
looked into affairs and running of the ashram. For lack of funds, they found it
difficult to run the ashram. It was at such time that Nirmaldas came to visit
the Master. He stood at a distance waiting to be called by the Master. The
Master looked up and signaled him to come near. Nirmaldas came near the Master,
bowed down to him and sat down. Master asked him ‘So, tell me Dasu, how are
things with you?’
“Everything is going
fine with your blessings Master” replied Nirmaldas.

Points to ponder :
- Most of us give what we want to give to the other in the relationship. And yet we feel we have given a lot! If we are giving what we 'want to give' and what we like then should not 'we be thankful' to the other for receiving what we are giving him? Because, he is being generous in accepting what we 'wish' to give him. We are getting an opportunity to give and experience the joy of giving? If this is true, then why do we 'think' we deserve something in return for what we gave?
- Are we giving what the other wants or are we giving what we want to give?
Life Tip :
Better to prepare and prevent than repair and repent!
If you have learnt it, use it!
Draw 'Reiki shield' daily - on yourself and all those who matter to you!
If a person in our colony gets effected by corona then we are also prone to that infection. So we are as safe as all the people we come in contact with. So a sensible person would take time to draw shield for everyone who comes in contact with him and his family and friends.
