Clarification to other wannabe bloggers

To  Other bloggers and wannabe bloggers

Few Clarifications:

I received many questions from other bloggers, I wish to answer them today. The most frequent question is

1. Does the blog of this stature require lots of hard work? We would like to start a blog too, so……..

Good. Start blogging and all the best for your blog. Now does writing a blog require lots of hard work? Well, I don’t know about ‘hard work’ but yes, it does quite a bit of your time.  Time taken to write a blog depends on few facts like – a. how good are you I the subject that you are dealing with? For eg. I don’t require time to ‘think’ about what I am writing. I know my subject and my pen hence flows effortlessly. I’ve never wasted time thinking what to write and how to write. If you need to find info for your write up, well it will take more time for sure…..

b.Next question is do you wish to type on the computer directly or write on a paper first and then type the same on to the computer? I belong to old school of writing, so pen down before putting it on through the keyboard. This does take lots of time, but I prefer it this way. But, if you wish to type directly on to computer yes, it would mean less time required for the same.

c. The next question you should ask yourself is why do you wish to blog in the first place? A. is it money, fame, or such related reasons? These incentives do sometimes make the work look laborious.

I basically started writing this blog only for the sake of my students – who are not in town and those who are abroad and not being able to talk to me on regular basis. My students (by now you must have known that I take up reiki classes and such related occult classes like vaasthu, tarot reading etc) had one complaint that they don’t get to hear me talk regularly because of job and other constraints. To do away with this complaint of them, I started writing this blog, so that they can hear me through my words on regular basis. Even this they find it difficult to access. Well, that’s a different story though!

This in short is an act of love – love of writing, love for my students and the love to share what I knew and experience with others who wished to know.

So, this is the fact which doesn’t let me see this work as ‘hard work’ for it is a ‘labour of love’ for me and hence I do it happily. It does give me ‘little more happiness’ though when someone ‘does’ say they benefitted out of my writing. It makes this job all the most fulfilling!

d. How much time does it take to write ‘a blog’ of this type? Well, I write for 4-5 hrs – twice a week and on other days, I just type what I’ve written and post it. Well, it takes about ½ an hour – 1hr/day to type. That’s all! If you are good at it, may be you can do it in less time.

e. How to increase your reader’s base? At you can see, I am no person to answer that as my reader’s base is very small and limited. One thing I’ve realized, If you are writing or presenting, catering to basic instincts, it gets more ‘hits’ than what relates to finer tastes and that which is pure and sensible! If you are thinking of writing anything on spirituality, then don’t bother about the number – just write for that ‘one person’ who would follow you diligently and apply that you’ve asked to and benefits and grows into a more balanced person. I just write for ‘that one person’. Our ancient seers wrote only for the one who would become enlightened reading their work. Just follow this simple rule!

I hope all your questions are answered and all the best for your ‘blogging’………….
