Me, My guru – Little Patridges and the mighty Ocean – Bhagavatham!

Hunger knows no distinction. It was felt by the Patridge couple too! They had to go in search of food. But, they had a huge problem in front of them – where do they leave their eggs? Who would take care of them? They both set thinking. Lost in thoughts, the male Partridge raised its head. It saw the Ocean. The solution was right in front of their eyes! It turned to its wife and said “We’ll ask our friend Mighty Ocean to look after our eggs till we come back”.

The female Patridge agreed. They both went near the Ocean and requested “Dear Mighty Ocean, please take care of our eggs till we come back from our hunt”.

The Ocean replied “Oh sure!”

The female Patridge thought for a while and said “You see, we are entrusting you with our life – our precious eggs. We’ll hold you responsible if anything happens to them. Don’t take your responsibility lightly”.

The Mighty Ocean laughed and replied, “Of course”!

The Patridge couple relieved of their tension flew in search of food.

After some time, the Patridge Couple came back only to find their nest missing. They searched in all directions but to no avail. Worried, tensed and disturbed, they approached the Mighty Ocean. They asked him “Oh, Mighty Ocean, where are the nest and our little ones which we left in your care?”

The Mighty Ocean even without blinking said “I don’t know. I was busy with my waves. I didn’t notice anything”.

“But, how can you say that? We trusted you with our eggs and yet you didn’t take care of them. We hold you to your word” shouted the female Patridge angrily at the Mighty Ocean.

The Mighty Ocean just shrugged and went about his routine.
