wow moments! Teacher's Day!
Anecdote shared from life of one Reiki Channel -
"Wow! It's Teacher's Day! Met one of my early life teachers - my badepapa...he taught me the art of cutting vegetables...I was in say 3rd or 4th class and was cutting vegetables - beans and palak to be specific. He came over to me and one look at the way I cut vegetables and lo! he started shouting at me. I cut vegetables like any 8-9yr old...just cut. And he said "We eat food three ways - first with eyes, then with nose and lastly with mouth. If the way it is served is not good, I have missed on eating with eyes. If the food served hurts the eyes the purpose of eating is 1/3rd missed. Vegetables should be cut very small (beans and palak here) and they should be even - ALWAYS! Many a time I have received praise for my cutting (vegetables esp. beans and palak..) and I owe every praise to my teacher........That paved way in my life to 'being in awareness' right in the middle of every day activity - boring and routine for most - it became one of the most cherished activity as that got converted into an act of meditation for me. For me, that became the 'me time'. That paved way to logging on to 'state of beingness' and thereby to happiness in the middle of every day activity. What wonderful phase I would go to every single time I cut vegetables....!!!If one has a 'student quality' he can learn even from a taunt a beautiful meditation technique - my badepappa was that teacher to me! Thanks to him - now and ever!
I went with different types of sweets - all that are his favourite. I didn't give him what I liked or wanted to give. I gave him - all that he liked. Listening to him and looking him relish what he eats, I have come to know of this. "
Lesson we can learn : If we are really grateful to a person, we find excuses to give him what he likes and how he likes. If we really like someone we'll listen to his likes and dislikes in his every act and word. We listen!!!

So true!
Reading this post reminded me of the different people who taught me different things about cooking. There were so many of them who taught me - my mother, my aunts, my cousins, my parent’s family friends. Just yesterday I was making puris and throughout the task I was thinking of a didi (family friends) who taught me how to deep fry them for a perfect puri.
My wow moment: it’s teachers day today. I get to keep my excuses aside and get to spend time thanking each of them and asking for blessings for them!
I bought flower plants to mark this occasion!
Thank you ma’am for every lesson you taught me!
