On December 6th

December 6th is the black day because of what happened on that day way back in 1992. I was held up in a small village on that fateful day way back in 1992. It terrified all the people in our train hearing stories about what was happening at various places in and around Hyderabad. We didn't have cell phones or any such mode of communication. Every thing we heard was hear say and let me tell you it wasn't 'any where decent' that day....

and most of us decided to stay where we were and did not board the train back to Hyderabad. No money and no where (much) to go and yet our decision was made and train left. We didn't have any other option once train left. 

And that day I saw 'large-hardheartedness' of so many of our 'senior colleagues'. They lent us money to buy toothbrushes, clothes and other essentials. We had to book 'STD' home as that was the only way to communicate our families that we wouldn't come back home and were safe where we were.....it was a long night....

we all slept on the rooftop of our office - with almost nothing much of comfort and with lots of mosquitoes to keep us company....who would sleep that night? How could we? Not knowing brings with it its own sweet and sour stress and fear.....

I was excited as ever....I enjoyed every minute of those 48 hours of unrest and uncertainty....

next day, one local colleague served us lunch.....God bless his wife who cooked for all of us and with so much of love and affection....she was so concerned and with so much of love she served us all.....

we took next day train to Hyderabad as curfew was declared in Hyderabad and situation being under control we decided to come back as we couldn't stay there anymore with no money or place proper to stay.....

for me it was very beautifully memorable experience - but not so for many people in other parts of India.......
