Books mean trees. Don't cause felling of trees unnecessarily. You can write on the one side sheets. You can write in the newspapers (where there are ads, there are lots of free space). You can write in the spaces in the numbers in the Calendars (take last year's calendars if you have any). The plain side, use it to write something like notes.
I am giving just a few examples but I hope you got the idea.
Just remember, don't waste papers unnecessarily. We are not planting trees enough. Don't waste items made of trees on top of it.
