On advice and its applications……..

On advice and its applications……..

How is the shayari below answer to the question asked? Can you relate and decipher the answer in it?

AD Classics: Taj Mahal / Shah Jahan | ArchDaily

One lover standing in front of Taj Mahal, India said

एक शहंशाह ने अपने दौलत का सहारा लेकर
हम गरीबों के प्यार का उड़ाया हैं मज़ाक।

ek shahenshah ne apne doulat ka sahara lekar
hum gareebon ke pyaar ka udaya hai mazak......

meaning -
one Emperor with the power of his wealth
has mocked at the love of us poor people.......

To that, one person replied.......

बादशाहत भी हो, दौलत भी और मुहब्बत भी हो
तब जाके एक ताज दुनिया में बनता हैं।

badshahat bhi ho, daulat bhi aur mohabbat bhi ho
tab jaake ek Taj duniya mein bantha hai......

Only when Power, money and love is
One Taj is built in this world........

In the above shayari, the person is seeing Taj Mahal based on their attitudes. The first one seems to be upset about his inability to build a monument like it. It shows his jealousy, frustration and self centeredness. While the other person is not only appreciating it but also making an observation on when and how things came together to have it built. The second one is aware but not complaining. He/she is living in here and now of the moment and is enjoying the view.

When it comes to Mona’s question: Why is there a difference? Why is it that the same solution is not received by two individuals in the same way?

I feel it’s about the attitude of the receiver again. When she came to Ma’am, she came with an intention and openness to learn. I am assuming that at some point she made sure that her patra was empty; so whatever advise was given to her she was able to take it in her that bowl. She cared to understand and retain the gyan dakshina that she received. Further, I feel that see sowed the seeds of gyan she received to grow it in her consciousness, thus having it available whenever she needed it.

This is not the same with everyone. Many a times we ask for advise but our patra is either half full or completely full with our limited knowledge that we are not willing to let it go; hence whatever advise we are given gets mixed up with what we already have in the patra. Or it simply overflows because it’s already full, and we end up rejecting the advise at face value.

(Please note, I am using ‘we’ here only to make it easy to understand.)

So, it is more about the receiver than the giver when it comes to this. Taj Mahal does not change based on the viewer’s opinion about it. It stays the same no matter what.

Lesson I learnt: heal myself so I am able to find valuable knowledge with a clear mind, and have the wisdom to appreciate it and benefit from it for the rest of my existence.

Thank you!

Small correction to my comment above. I meant to write “she cared to understand and retain the gyan she received’.
Thanks!

Thank you Vaibhav for your kind words! (I hope I can call you by your name)

I am still learning. There is so much I need to learn and improve before I leave this body. I am no where close to ‘super’, but I take your compliment as an encouragement. I agree with you, every moment of learning indeed feels like a new birth.

As far as I understand Maam’s article, she is happy with each one of us who had made progress, not just me. I think I can feel her pride and it fills my heart with joy. I am also touched by her words and I feel truly blessed to have her as my guide.

Thank you!

Thank you Guruji. On this Guru Purnima I fall short of words to describe how much I have received from you over the years. It's been a ritual for me to check the blog every night before sleeping, for the past 11 years. There would be days when I would not find the time and not check the blog. And the day I would feel low or confused, I would just login and find my answer right here. You've held me everytime I would slip, and made sure I never fell. Thank you is a very small word, my heart is filled with gratitude for you. I've never experienced the unconditional love of a Guru before. 🙏

Thank you Supriya for the explanation, it's really too good. You surely have worked a lot on your third eye chakra, over the years :-D
I also think, like in my case, the giver also makes a difference. Actually that's what I was pointing out, while mentioning it in a lighter note. I'm sure if the same people had received the same advice from someone they look up to or someone who they think has the answers, they might be more willing to accept the solution.

Mona, I see your point. I did overlook the giver’s influence on the receiver as I did not have enough clarity.

I have failed umpteen times as a giver, even to someone who says I am close to them. I just knew that I did not have their confidence. Lately I have started benefitting as a receiver, so it was easier for me to get into the receiver’s shoes and give the answer 😀

Your question has brought peace to me as a giver too. Thank you for asking it.
