Me, My Guru – On Empty
boat
“A monk was passing by
a beautiful river. It’s flow and the sound it made was musical. Various trees
on the banks of river gave that serenity to that place. Birds chirping on the
branches of those trees, squirrels running along the branches, butterflies
abound in that area made it so magical! The cool breeze put anybody’s worries
to rest at this place. There were trees laden with flowers of various kinds
emitting fragrances that soothed any tired soul! Oh! This place seemed heaven!
The monk drank the beauty of this place”
I heard our Guru talk
as I entered the premises. Today, once again I was late. I simply and silently
joined the session. When I heard her explain ‘that place’ in such detail, I was
bit confused. Why was she describing ‘that place’ in such detail?
Her explanation
continued “The monk sat on a rock under a tree for some time. He felt very
peaceful and calm. He smiled! He had touched his ‘bliss state’ today! He was
sure of it. These many years o sadhan had brought him to this! He felt
accomplished. He looked around. He found none. He couldn’t share this with
anyone now! How bad!
It was then that his
eyes fell on a boat tied to a tree. He was very happy. He thanked God and his
Guru for giving him this moment! He walked towards the boat with sure steps. He
climbed it and started to row the boat. He decided to go to the middle of the
river, stop rowing the boat and then mediate for long hours. He could put all
his meditation techniques to best use today! He was so excited. Oh, this was
blissful! He reached the middle of the river. He pulled the oar and put it in
the boat. Yes, everything was perfect. He closed his eyes and started
meditating. 1,2 ,5 minutes – there was a scratching sound on the wood that was
irritating. The monk got irritated. He realized with the way the boat was
shaking and the sound that reached his eyes that some boat was hitting his
boat. Let it be. He expected the other boatman to move away – soon! 5-10 mts
passed. But no, the sound didn’t stop. He could feel the other boat hitting his
boat. He got angry at the insensitivity of the other boatman. Couldn’t he see
that ‘the monk’ was meditating? Why was he being so irresponsible? It also
meant that he was insensitive. ‘Oh, I know now. He takes pleasure in others’
pain. It gives him great pleasure to give pain to others. He was a sadist! Yes,
it was so true. He was asuric in nature. How come such people operate in this
world? Does God not punish them? No, they should not be punished in some
distant future. They should be punished now!”

questions addressed :
- What should be addressed if I am not to suffer when things go wrong in my life?
- What is the definition of perfect life?
- What is freedom?
- How does meditation help?
Thoughts worth understanding :
- Our inner world decides and controls our outer world
- We experience the world the way we are inside
- Heal self and the world around you will change
- What is inside you reflects in what is around you
- To change the way you receive from the Universe, change the way you send message to the Universe from 'inside'.
- What we are is something nobody can hide and manipulate from Universe. It gives us what we deserve on what we are! Not on what we want or wish for!
Life Tip :
Sometimes, all I want is a good night sleep and even that seems to be a miracle that is hard to come by.........
Today's miracle :
This is actually shared by a reiki channel Ms. Udaya Bhanu who was admitted during these testing times in the hospital for severe health reasons couple of days ago, but was miraculously treated and discharged from the hospital today. She wanted to thank reiki and reiki Guruji. She had few experiences that were beyond explanations and logic........
her faith became her strength.....
