On love - Bhagavatam

...contd....

Our Guruji came to resume after the break and our talks were postponed for later time.

“Even after killing Kamsa, when the whole of Mathura celebrated and insisted on Krishna being king, he very respectfully declined the offer. That is ‘his character’. He didn’t usurp power or position at slightest opportunity. Till the end he never took the mantle of ‘rulership’ – ever! But he always worked for the welfare of entire Yadava Clan and Bharata Varsha or Aryavarta as India was called then. He was people’s person – day in and day out. Yet never did he seek the power that was his for asking! ‘Detachment at its best’. He was in the middle of every action, working non-stop for all yet untouched by the fruits of his actions. He taught what he lived! What a Guru – and that’s why he is darling ‘Jagat Guru’ (guru of the world) of all!

Though he was detached from power, people welding power were wary of him and hated him. Not because of what he did to them – because he never did anything to them. Be it JaraSandha – the mightiest Emperor of then Aryavartha, or Sishupala his evil, arrogant cousin or Rukmi, the Prince of Chedi and brother of Rukmini (wife of Krishna) the ally of Jarasandha. They all hated him and wanted to end his life with no clue of fulfilling that desire of theirs’.

Observe this whole scenario once again and let it sink in. It teaches one of life’s best lessons and Truths. Krishna was no king but was highly ‘Dharmic’ in practise and in principle. Everyone knew that he wouldn’t accept any ‘adharma’ (unethical) and that was enough of reason to dislike him and want his death. ‘People who are wrong, however famous (so-called) and powerful can never be at rest and peaceful and are always afraid of people who follow ‘Dharma’, people who are righteous.

Nothing can give courage to the wrong-doer and the righteous need no fear!

It was not Krishna they hated; it was their own weakness that they hated in his presence. The brave doesn’t require broadcasting that he fears none.

It’s only the coward who keeps shouting that they fear none and that they are brave.

The wise are silent. It’s the ignorant who tries to impress with his knowledge. It is he who tries to prove to all of his intelligence.

And the funny part is that their followers make more noise trying to prove their worth. Gold doesn’t make noise, it’s the copper that does.”

Excellent posts Ma'am. Every time I think that most of the topics have been covered, you come up with such beautiful posts which make me rewire my thinking.Indeed self healing is a never ending process.

I had never understood Krishna before. I read somewhere that a person asked his guru if it is true that Puttaparti SaiBaba was God. The answer was "God is in each one of us. You just have to look within". We pass off every small act of Krishna as a Godly feat. And nowadays its fashionable to assassinate characters of Gods. I always used to wonder why people say all this. Now I know its just their frustration of not realising the divinity within themselves.

Thank you to your Guruji as well for tirelessly imparting knowledge she must have gained over years or may be janmas of Sadhan.
