Me my Guru – On Dilip kumar, depression and need to heal

We can learn from anyone. We can learn (right) by observing people around us or looking at others’ lives too.

Dilip Saab was the legendary actor. He was JUST ACTING in those tragic roles. And yet, it had an impact on his psyche.  He faced depression.

So, what do you understand from this?

The mind doesn’t know the difference between “real”, “acting” or “imaginary”. It responds to all these in the same way. It releases the related chemicals of our emotions into our system. Our system gets impacted accordingly. So, the story is not always about “how Dilip Saab being the good man suffered depression”?

Even good people suffer the consequences of those emotions that they live or relate to (both real and imaginary). Pause here.

Read the entire part a couple of times more. Don’t be in a hurry to complete the post and start your questions with “But maam….” Or “maam, I agree, but….”.

You getting these questions means you haven’t understood RIGHT. You may have understood the language and the words. You didn’t get the IMPORT of the word. So read again and again and again!

If “acting depressive, sad, agony-filled roles” took him into the abyss of depression, what do you think will happen to us who are living such emotions on the daily basis?

My understanding is
If a person just acted in a sad role and had felt depressed, gloomy inspite of being successful at the height of his career with name , fame, money , people everything around him. Then what about me who is living the tragic role depicted by my own mind everyday . OMG I need to be aware of this mind . I need to be aware of myself.

I remembered the story of monkey told by my guru here is the link

When I read it how dearly I am holding on to my grief or sadness.

My guru like Buddha has umpteenth times asked me to remove my hand but still I am holding on to my attitudes
