Me, My guru – On duties, responsibilities and results
Pundarika even without turning still replied, “So the parental service has such power that you had to come even though uncalled?”
Lord
said, “Yes, parental service has such power”.
Pundarika
replied, “If parental service has such power, how can I leave it? At present I
am busy. Better come some other time”.
Lord
then came in front of Pundarika and said, “I am pleased with your bhakthi for
your parents. I was testing you. Ask for any boon”.
Pundarika
said, “Whatever flaw is there in my devotion towards my parents, let it be made
good. As you said this is the highest service, I don’t ask for anything else.”
God
is not “egotist” as many ASSUME. He is not “narcist, greedy or selfish’ either
wanting everyone to love ONLY HIM! He
appreciates and becomes bound to love – be it expressed to anyone
whole-heartedly.
When
we serve our parents because we need them – be it physically, emotionally or
financially – we may receive what we desire in exchange for our “service”, but
we can’t expect love, respect or moksha in exchange for that service. If we
desire to get a “good child” tag in exchange for what we do to our parents, we
may get it too, but our karma can’t be healed in such a barter arrangement.
Since
karma is not healed, what you need to face as per destiny can’t be done away
with. So, you’ll face
problems in
spite of servicing your parents.
