Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

Most of us had one excuse or the other for not being in Sadhan. We gave our reasons for not being able to heal ourselves regularly. This was her answer to our excuses. The story that she gave us was something that stayed with us – me, especially for a long time to come.

“In a certain village was a Rishi (Seer) named Jaratkaru. He fell in love with Sun-God. So, to express his love he used his worship Sun-God through “Sandhya”. “Sandhya vandanam” is the ritualistic worship of Sun-God. It is a ritual in which the person does salutations to Sun-God as a form of gratitude to the Sun.

Due to his power of worship, the Sun would not set until his worship was complete. One day he was sleeping and the time of sunset approached. His wife woke him up saying “The Sun is about to set. Wake up lest your routine fails”.

The Rishi confidently replied “How can my routine break? How can the Sun set till I do not offer ablution to him? You woke me up as you are not aware of my power”.

Questions addressed in the link given:

What is the purpose of all the sadhan when I am not getting the results the way I want it?

How to know that the sadhan is working?
