Me,
My guru – On duties, responsibilities and results
“Guruji, I serve my parents well and yet why do I suffer so much? Did you not say that one who gets to serve his parents is the one doing service of the greatest order? If I am doing ‘the greatest service’ how come I still have problems in life?” I asked as she was sipping her tea. This was break-time. And I used it to pose my question to her.
My
Guru answered me with this story.
Lord
said “But Pundarika, I am the Lord of this Universe. I have come to meet you.
And you don’t have time to meet me?”
Pundarika
replied “Lord, can’t you see that I am now serving my parents. I am busy
serving my parents. Please tell me why you came now.”
Pundarika
even without turning still replied, “So the parental service has such power
that you had to come even though uncalled?”
Lord
said, “Yes, parental service has such power”.
Pundarika
replied, “If parental service has such power, how can I leave it? At present I
am busy. Better come some other time”.
