Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

The Rishi confidently replied “How can my routine break? How can the Sun set till I do not offer ablution to him? You woke me up as you are not aware of my power”.

Such is the power of regular remembrance. We become that which we keep remembering again and again, all through the day. To do “Sandhya” we keep seeing to see if the Sun has set yet. Mere blind remembrance is also good. But the real benefit comes when we remember in all four ways. We chant the mantra at the appointed time daily.

Next, we understand the meaning of the “mantra” and be with its import as we chant.

Next, we also thank and remember the Rishi who has written or given us the mantra.

We say it in its “meter”.

Similarly, we can do with any sadhan technique. Take any technique. Then do it at the regular time preferably daily (or at least do it daily without fail like we do hands-on at least once daily)

Then, through the day go through your chores with the import of the technique. That is keep chanting or remembering to be aware of ego (if you are working on it).

Before start of any work do pranayama at least 3-5 times – say eating, walking, sleeping, working, washing – just about anything. Now can you say you didn’t get time to do pranayama to heal ‘ego’ (it can be any attitude or emotion here).
