Me, My Guru – On healing the uncertainty

“Guruji, how come nothing in my life is smooth inspite of doing Reiki so regularly?” asked Swathi.

Few of us nodded our heads in unison. Yes, we too felt that way from time to time. We felt all our meditations, pooja, rituals and healings were a waste of time and energy as life didn’t go as planned. Those were the times we sought her company. I can’t say exactly the reason but we – well, most of us stuck to healing thanks to her explanation. But yet, this doubt never actually left us for good a little turbulence and we were shaken out of our faith. Was our faith so weak or does that mean that inspite of faith we were not given ‘secure life’?

“An atheist came to Krishna and said “Look Krishna, look at your plight. A tiny virus which is not even visible has shut down all your temples. How do you call yourself a God?” Krishna smiled and replied “Look closely! I’ve turned every home into a temple!” our Guru paused having replied so!

We clapped gleefully! We didn’t do this ever and yet it was so spontaneous today! We had experienced effect of mass healings during this covid times and it was true. We did feel sanctity of temple at our homes and were at peace most part of that healing period.

She had a visitor and we were left with ourselves for some time. One of us said “That retort of Krishna is great! No doubt, HE is God! Only our Krishna can give such an answer! I wonder how Swathi’s question would be answered now!”

Few of us agreed.

Rahul laughed and replied “That Krishna’s reply was the answer for Swathi’s question!”

But, even if you forget the story but have carried its import in your life and lived it, then the purpose is fulfilled***. Or if the story kind of helps you to ‘apply’ a technique to overcome ‘a limitation’ then it has served the purpose. Know the difference.

One person understands it the first time it is told!

And the other – well, he may need 100 stories to cut that ‘set understanding’ to break and give way to clarity of thought! Who benefits when is not what I can predict or expect.

My job is to keep writing till my hands and brain support me. My job is to keep filling this ‘river of knowledge’ with the droplets of ‘my understanding’ day in and day out like a small brook – with the hope that who so ever comes weary of their pains and sufferings may find some solace by drinking ‘water from this river’ even if be just a cup of it!

Whether a person just quenches his thirst or drops all his sins into this ‘river’ rests on that person. But this river like Ganges has all potential – each receives as per his nature – shraddha vaan labathi.

Only a one who comes with an empty cup can fill it all with this ‘water’.  One whose cup is already filled with ‘justification of himself being right etc, anger, hatred, ego will hardly have his cup filled with this water. It means even to receive a ‘little of right understanding and application’ one should have ‘healed enough and for quite a long time’.

                                  

So, if you feel you aren’t receiving as much as others, benefiting as much as others, know your healing is just enough to ‘empty you of yourself’ as of now! So, don’t lose heart and hope. Keep working and keep healing! Each will receive as he ‘empties himself’ over the period of time.

                                                

Seeker – empty your cup for Universe can’t fill it to brim if you’ve already kept it full!

And nobody, I repeat, nobody can ‘empty you of your misunderstandings’ till the day you decide to empty it yourself.

                                    

And the good news is, “There is no defeat to the person who tries right”*……

                                              

So, I say again, keep healing, keep working and keep drinking from this ‘river of knowledge’ again and again……

It’s often mentioned “It was a wonderful story. Never heard of it before?” So coming to stories in this blog (Or me, my Guru series) They are from three sources broadly speaking.

1. One, of course that is clearly evident is from Hindu Mythology and Puranas. Many stories from Epics of Hinduism namely Mahabharat and Ramayan are take and told to explain certain aspects of our life and its situations. That way, it becomes easier for the reader to also see that they are just not some stories that ought to be read out of blind belief – but are ‘guides’ that explain how we are to handle ourselves and our situations of life! Many people including Indians read these scriptures out of faith and then keep it aside! That is not the purpose of these scriptures. They are to be ingested in our way of thinking living and dealings in life. Only when that happens, can we take pride in our treasure trove of knowledge passed on by our ‘Seers’. Unlike other religions of the world, nowhere in Hinduism, we are told to behave as ‘blind sheep or sinners’. We are ever asked to realize our ‘real divinity’ and act in accordance with that ‘Divine’ that is in all of us!

I also write stories from ‘Upanishads’ which are dear to me in so many ways!

                                 

2. The second set of stories is anecdotes and fables taken from all over the world. 

3. Third, are the stories which have been written for the first time ever – solely for the purpose of this blog – many times fresh off the oven – meaning I had written and posted it simultaneously. ‘Stories and All’ series especially belongs to this category.

Sometimes, I have developed a sentence I heard or a joke I liked into a story for you. Well, whatever is the source; remember story is just the medium used to drive home the point. It was used to show the possibility of living ‘an attitude or a character’. It was to show how mind and ego work towards creating hell for us and how we get entangled in it. It also is to show how and what techniques we are to apply to come out of this quagmire of ‘self-inflicting disease’ of ‘self-destruction’! It is to help us to ‘aware’ of our ‘slip areas’. It is to point us our fall or remind us of our weakness – the causes and effects of such weakness and how to overcome it too! If you like and remember the story only, the whole purpose is lost!  But...

• Every thing has a purpose. WE need to seek it to know it. 

• When we assign 'value' good or bad to everything we read we miss out of getting what it has to offer us! We need to empty our hearts of its tastes for our minds to receive from it!
• Even when we read, we read out of ego and hence need to be told the same story again and again by the Universe to drive home a point.

Every end is the start of the New Beginning!

Seed dies to sprout.

Flowers wither to grow into fruits.

Fruits die to give rise to seeds.

Seed gives rise to trees.

Trees end to be used as wood.

Wood gets burnt to give fire.

Caterpillar goes to let butterfly come.

Worm goes to give way to dragonfly.

Oyster ends to give world the ‘pearl’.

Every end is the start of New Beginning!

Life goes on – ad infinitum! Life goes on forever!

We with our ‘limited understanding’ limit it with a ‘beginning’ and ‘an end’.

But life goes on!

For every end is the start of New Beginning!
