Blessing that turned into curse – Me, My Guru

Image result for sri rama qualitiesIn the kingdom where the ruler was ‘just’ personified there was prosperity and contentment everywhere and so no one ever came to complain. It was so since years. So Lakshmana found that ritual redundant and yet Lord Rama though happy on listening to the logic still insisted on doing and following that routine. And so Lakshmana went out to see if they were any complaints. The guards at the gate told him that ‘a dog’ had been waiting for quite some time to have audience of Lord Rama to put forth his complaint. King Lakshmana was surprised to hear that someone let that be just a dog had any complaint in the kingdom of Lord Rama. He asked dog to tell him his complaint and promised to address it. But that dog was adamant. He wanted to meet Lord Rama only!

‘So be it’ thought Lakshmana and came in to tell the same to Lord Rama. He immediately asked Lakshmana to bring that dog in his presence inspite of being dead tired. He was such a great king of such a vast kingdom. He could’ve easily fallen back on his tiredness and asked Lakshmana to look into the issue but he didn’t.  That was what made him ‘Purushottam’. A man is not just about his possessions and achievements. He is how he conducts himself on such small and trivial issues, how he deals with them and how he accepts his responsibilities? Most of us want posts, positions, power, money, comforts, respects but never want to face the brick-bats that come our way thanks to our desire of ‘growth and position’ in life! He respected his responsibilities as much as we love and fight for our rights.
