On God and ourselves – Me, My Guru

On God and ourselves – Me, My Guru

“Assuming that ‘The Creator’ having created us and this world (she stressed on ‘this’ and it brought out all new meaning out of it! Has moved on to some distant ‘space’ where HE is busy creating newer world – God knows for what joy! And hence has forgotten us for good! Now what are we to do?

How do you propose to deal with it?”

Her questions gave a major jolt and shook us hard. I mean, we were mentally paralysed. We were too shocked to respond. She unwrapped the chocolate and started ‘relishing’ it (yes, relishing and not just eating!). Murali’s kid was to fly abroad for higher studies and hence he gave us all ‘Cadbury chocolates’ and she ate it immediately as if there was no better time than NOW!?

We followed suit and ate ours in shocked silence.

Having completed her chocolate and finding no response from us she continued as if here question was just rherotic “OK! Let’s got to next assumption which I find very interesting... Imagine God to be the driver of a vehicle that HE is driving! Vehicle being the world – then, for some joy HE got down and the vehicle moved on without HIM having got in and this vehicle is moving on its own pace, directionless, on its own and we are all inside that going nowhere but moving around all along though! God has tried catching up with ‘this vehicle’ called Universe and has missed it and is now going around searching for it frantically. Imagine this scene as in cartoon vision!”  There was tons of mischief and excitement in her voice. Why she was taking us on this joy ride. I failed to understand. But she certainly was out for something sensible – that much I came to believe over the years and yet today my trust was bit shaky – like time before and she seemed to love doing this with us.
