On desires and decisions – Me, My Guru
Crow, Parrot and other birds
Contd.....
Not having clarity of thought at the start is the main cause of this entire drama. But no problem! As you paint the canvas of your life your way, also work on your self from within to know yourself better and to seek what you actually desire and want.
So was parrot wrong in making
a wish? No! As already told neither crow nor parrot is right or wrong. Either way
you live with the consequence and you lose something when you gain something –
always in life. Now what is the price you are ready to pay to gain what you
desire is a learning process that life enables us to do with these situations. So
see it that way and enjoy it all the way instead of suffering at every nook and
corner and bend of life.
Not making a choice is also a ‘decision’
and we have to live with consequence of that ‘inaction’ too! This entire game
keeps going till your character hits the middle path of being wise. It means
being strong enough to make a decision and change things that need to be changed
because they are wrong. And to accept gracefully things that are right though
they are not to my taste. Knowing when to take which decision is the wisdom
that needs to be acquired by each one and only then has that person hit the ‘middle
path’ of being ‘karma yogi’.
A balanced and wise person
doesn’t mean accepting everything blindly that comes your way. Neither does Krishna
telling ‘Take arms to fight against Dharma’ mean going against everything. Being
above our likes and dislikes and yet acting according to dictum of ‘Right and
Wrong’ is the sign of the ‘Regular Sadhak and his sadhan’.
