Ask and it shall be given - Me, My Guru

Contd.....

Ask and it shall be given - Me, My Guru

“Not only that, Guruji always says that we attract people depending upon the energy that we generate. If there is hardly love within me and if I am filled with only insecurity, greed, anger, pain, self-pity or any or all of such attitudes what is the chance of attracting sensible people in my life?  So, instead of looking at these people let me use them to look within and heal myself”.

“You may have such issues but I don’t have any. I am good, it’s just my m-i-l who is bad” shouted Pallavi. But my friends didn’t lose their cool.

“Even then, use her to develop ‘peace’ in the middle of tense moment.

“What nonsense is that?” asked Pallavi very irritated.

“Guruji always says that he only is greatest who can maintain his cool both among his friends and foe alike, who is same during praise or taunt, who is happy both in rags and in riches. So, let’s use this people to develop that state of being ‘balanced’ at all times. They are our best ‘buddies’ if we know how to use them correctly”.

This was both amusing and a bit confusing at a time. But, it certainly was challenging. There was something in his tone that made us want to implement it immediately. Infact, I had a strong urge to go in search of people who teased my patience and practice it on them, wow! That would be ‘freedom’ worth working for! If my friends can work on it so can i!

Namaste Mam,
Good Day!
Hope you are doing good !!!
Can you please help provide clarity on below ?

1) When Raja Parikshit was cursed that he will die in one week he didn't choose to retailiate, instead he went to his guru, listened to Srimadh Bhagavatam & attained salvation.

2) When Kauravas did injustice, cheating etc with Pandavas... Lord Krishna said that it's Dharma to Kill Duryodhan, fight back and get your kingdom and then rule with justice for wellbeing of people, country etc... And Mahabharata happened!

3) While we hear about being stable in profit/loss , insults/appraises, joy/sad etc.. we also hear that we need to stand up for ourselves, self defend and fight.
Both seem contradictory ! (May be because I lack clarity)

So how do we decide which step to take? After taking a step if it's wrong how do we save ourselves from that guilt?Aka the dialogue which you use - Even God can forgive you for something but your central nervous system will not !

4) Do we keep quite when someone curses us without reason , cheats us & betrays or hit back like in Mahabharata?

5) Also what is more beneficial for us?
Fighting for what we want or patiently waiting for Karma to take it's own course and screw people who do wrong with us or cheat us?(I know it's not correct to think bad about someone but Karma take's it course right? so do we wait and see for it? No I don't mean I will wait just to see him screwed my intention is not he/she being screwed up because they did wrong with me. I just mean to ask whether it's right to take action or leave it)?

Is fighting back good or leaving it to God is good?

If leaving to God is good then what's the importance of Purushartha?( Trying to achieve success or whatever one wants) What is Dharma? Fighting back or sitting back and praying to God to do justice?

Can you please take some time and enlighten us on this topic?

If you have already discussed on this topic , I sincerely apologize on the lapse of my memory as I do not remember.

Kindly oblige and guide us!

Thank you so much once again !!

Hi Vaibhav! Great question. I was thinking about the same thing last week.

I recently met two such people who have been suffering and complaining about their respective problem for years. When I gave them some practical advice, they told me that they believe in God and God will do whatever has to be done. "Xyz will suffer when he is old because of his karma" " abc will figure out her career on her own" were their dialogues.

"Do you think God has nothing better to do than to help you with something you should be doing? Why don't you just admit, you're too lazy? Why do you even eat food? You should just sit and wait for God to feed you" I said and left in a huff.

But I did regret speaking to them that way. May be they were right? Would love to learn more!

Namaste Mam,

From above set, one of my questions was :

After taking a step if it's wrong how do we save ourselves from that guilt?Aka the dialogue which you use - Even God can forgive you for something but your central nervous system will not !

Answer :

You have already written the answer in the post from below link :

https://kantipadam.blogspot.in/2017/05/ask-and-it-shall-be-given-me-my-guru_20.html

“Our Guru once said that even God may forgive us for our sins but our Central Nervous System doesn’t. How do I relate it here?”

“by forgiving ourselves...”

“...easier said than done....”

“What if I don’t even realize or agree that what I did was wrong in the first place?”

“Then there is no question of healing at all. All this talk and discussion becomes redundant in such cases. We are looking at cases where the person knows his sins and is regretting having made it”.

“Then forgive self and then seek forgiveness from the person who’s been hurt and also not to repeat it. All this exercise goes down the drain if the act is repetitive”

“The moment we realize that we’ve sinned, it is not complete acceptance if it doesn’t make me humble enough not to count others sins and judge them”

“Well said, bravo!”

“May be it means much more than sin and forgiveness? It means “Ask and it shall be given”. Maybe, the basis of our very pain and suffering is our asking for it”

*************By forgiving ourselves is the answer!***************
& below lines too..

Mam,
If there is anything which you still want to add, Please feel free to add the same.
Thank you! I'm reading the other links which you posted today..
