Everything changes

Me, my Guru

Everything changes

“Guruji, I’ve read so much of what you’ve written. I’ve heard you talk and discuss on so many subjects. I seem to forget many as I go along in life. So can you condense all your teachings in just a sentence so that I can remember that and it would be easy for me to apply it and work on it” asked Swathi.  She had come after many months. She visited once every few months but her questions were interesting and made many things easier to follow.

But this time I thought she couldn’t get an answer to her question. How can majority of her teachings be condensed in one sentence? Simply impossible and I knew it!

“Everything changes” replied my Guru immediately without waiting to think and continued “Anymore questions?” the answer was a shock to many of us. And as we were busy understanding those two words, our Guruji got up and left. Today she was very busy since morning – none of us though knew why. And now she left the place. She had told us already that she would’ve only 10-15mts to talk to us and that she had to leave. We didn’t know where and she didn’t tell us where. This thing always intrigued me. Where did she go, why? Whom did she meet? I was always curious to know about all these things. And yet I like everybody hardly got to know barely anything. It both irritated me and hurt me. But, “What did you understand by ‘everything changes’” came Swathi’s voice questioning me through my thoughts.

“Well that every changes” I replied. I felt both sheepish and stupid as I heard my own reply.

“No. if all her teachings can be condensed in those words it must mean a lot” said Swathi lost in thoughts.

.....contd.....
