Everything changes

There was silence for some time. Everyone was lost thinking. “Hey Rahul, you’ve got grey hair. I never noticed it before. So are you getting old or growing wiser” teased Pirya after ½ an hr or so of silence. Everyone laughed when Aziz put in “Yes, Rahul’s hair colour changes and so does his age. That’s what she meant when she said ‘everything changes’.”

Rahul joined in laughter and yet continues “Yes, you are right Aziz and Priya’s observations is true. We are eternally changing and yet we think we are the same. Nothing is permanent. From birth to childhood to youth to old age the body has been changing and though we noticed may be but did not realize that we can’t hold on to something that is changing and wishing that it doesn’t. Growth and decay are inevitable part of this ‘change’ and yet we lead life as if ‘nothing’s changed’. So foolish!”

 

Each one of us processed this body and age related “everything changes” truth as per our perception.

‘So, true’ added Priya looking and pointing at a tree in the garden. “Remember that tree, we had planted that Ashoka tree on the day we received our Mastership and look today it’s a huge tree”. We all looked at the tree and felt very happy. We were glad we planted it years ago at our Guru’s insistence.

“Why don’t we plant more trees to commemorate more of events in our lives?” asked Swathi eagerly and excitedly.

“Good Idea!” shouted all! So we all got to discuss on how to go about with this Idea, where to plant, what trees to plant etc. we chalked out whole plan and it took whole of an hour and we all felt both excited and happy about our whole project. Yes, this would be perfect gift to our Guru. Yes, we wanted to plant 100 trees as a form of gratitude for all that she gave us. We all knew for sure how happy she would be when she would see 100 trees planted, taken care of and especially when they grew into huge trees.

“How about some tea to celebrate this Idea?” asked Padma suddenly.

 “Excellent idea” laughed everyone. Vidya got up to prepare tea for all.
