Stories and all! Madman and the Doctor

Stories and all! Madman and the Doctor

It had been raining non-stop since two days. The city hadn’t seen this level of rains in the last 20 years. There was water everywhere. Did the sky lose something so precious that it was crying non-stop?

Anand wasn’t aware of this storm outside. He was wearing a black raincoat that fell till his ankles but yet he seemed to be totally wet. But he wasn’t aware of it either. He was sitting on a bench under a tree by the side of the road. The lamp post shed its light on the dark street. He didn’t know what to do. He had lost in all in business. There was no way he could survive this loss in his business. How could he face his wife Priya and his two kids? They would be homeless – all because of him. Yes, this was the only way to this problem. He had to end his life. There was no other solution to it. He closed his eyes and rain washed away his tears that rolled down his cheeks.

“Excuse me!”

Did he hear right? Was there someone out there too in this rain? He opened his eyes half doubting his senses. He saw a tall gentleman in business suit standing in front of me. He was surprised. He didn’t know this gentleman and yet he was talking to him.

“Hello! I am Muragappa of Murugappa group of Industries. I would like to invest in your company. Here is the cheque for Rs.25 lakhs. I’ll meet you in a year” so saying he left giving Anand that cheque.

For a moment Anand couldn’t believe his eyes. He looked at the cheque. It was genuine. It was correctly dated and signed. That gentleman sat in a car which was a little away from that bench. Anand was thrilled. All his problems could be solved by this one cheque. But on second thoughts, if Murugappa believed in him, there really must be something in him that could bring back his company from abyss that it was in to its glorious past. Yes, he wouldn’t encash that cheque now. He knew what to do. He got up and left – now his steps were hurrying taking him towards his success. He couldn’t wait to meet his family. He embraced tomorrow with renewed spirit. He couldn’t wait for things to fall in place now! He hurried towards action that would save him and his company.
