Nirvana Satakam

Nirvana Shatakam by Adi Shankaracharya

Me, My Guru

We had come to share about ‘Il Dolce far Niente!’ experiences but that seems to be delayed by other experiences and explanations. Was there a reason for that or was it just a coincidence? But then our Guru always said “There’s nothing as coincidences in life. Everything is as per Divine plan and is as per Plan, we may not see or understand it is a different fact altogether”. These questions bothered me a bit. I always seem to be caught between questions – one way or other. One question answered never meant one issue was resolved – it only gave rise to umpteen other questions. This was like that demon who’s every drop of blood that touched the ground became ‘the rakshasha’ again! Now, this demon – is it my questions or my mind? See it’s happened again! I need to ask her if it is good or bad and as to what I should do about that. But this question can wait. What I was dying to know was why she talks about mundane routine i.e, about emotions like anger, greed, discipleship etc so many times. Why doesn’t she address issues like death, after death and such subject? When I was googling through on this subject, I hit upon ‘Nirvana Satakam’. I was intrigued. Why doesn’t she mention about or talk about these scriptures? Honestly I had my doubts with regarding to ‘her knowing’ these scriptures. If she had known, she would’ve mentioned sometime, but she never did. How much does she know? Especially about these books and their content!

Like on many issues I had mixed feeling for ‘her’ regarding ‘her knowledge’. Sometimes, her talk or some statement hits me like Tsunami and I end up being in a dizzy for quite sometime with just ‘wow’ out of my mouth. Oh yes! I didn’t know how to express my feelings when I felt so. But there were equally opposite feelings of doubt too in me. that confused me and may be that’s why she wasn’t to me what shat she was for ‘Rahul, Aziz, Nimmy’ and others. I liked her a lot. There was no doubt in that but to have that reverence, well, she must earn it I felt. Though I didn’t have guts to express that to others vocally!

...contd....

Listen to the simple Sanskrit bhajan by Shri Adi Shakaracharya beautifully rendered by music legend Smt. M.S.Subbalakshmi to understand the content of Vedanta Philosophy in a nutshell...must have heard it 1000s of times but this time listen and understand the meaning too as english translation is also given for your understanding....

Thanks for posting this sloka/bhajana mam... Bhaja Govindham... I have always liked this... thanks that I now have both song and lyrics in one video only...

Just wanted to share one more piece of info...in case anyone wants to download this video/or any video from youtube then you can do this by below steps :

Go to :

http://keepvid.com/

Enter youtube URL link and then click DOwnload.. You can then download in as many formats you want :) But this will happen only if you have Java installed on browser

Alternatively just post the video to your facebook account and follow below steps.. this is more simple...you will not have any other dependencies like above..

1. replace the www in the URL with m.
e.g. http://www.facebook.com/blahblah to http://m.facebook.com/blahblah and press enter.

2. this brings you to the FB mobile site, once there click on your video.

3. While the video is playing if you are on a pc right click on the video screen and select "save video as" and pic a location on your pc to save the video.

Hello Revathi Mam,

Happy Ugadi to you and everyone who is reading this :)

To download MP3 Format from youtube please follow below steps :

1)Please go to the website : http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
2)In the text box provided please copy and paste link of the youtube video.

For Example : I want to download Aigiri Nandini Song from Youtube from below link :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=442ewPgXHQ0&nohtml5=False

SO I will go to "http://www.youtube-mp3.org/" page and in text box will enter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=442ewPgXHQ0&nohtml5=False

Click on Convert VIdeo.... and the audio only for that video will download....

One must listen to this bhajan/song too... This is in the best musical formats I have ever heard... very clear vocals and also we have the Lyrics... All In one...

If above does not work we still have many many tools online... you can get all those from below link :

Worst Case if none of above works just type "Download mp3 format" in google but you may not get it in the same tune/music etc... since there are many prints available online..

I will revert to you about blogging formats..Give me some time please...

Hi Mam,

1)First Sign In to your blog
2)Click On Design On Top Right

I had uninstalled Java from my system and was able to download the MP3 version of an youtube song from

http://convert2mp3.net/en/

Above site does not need java or any other extra plugins

There is one small problem with "http://www.youtube-mp3.org/" I previously said ie..it only downloads video's less than 20 minutes.. so in case you have any video more than that... you can use

http://convert2mp3.net/en/

Thank you mam... I was worried since few days as I had very less space left on my phone but still wanted many more to songs to be in....I always downloaded videos from youtube now you gave a nice idea about mp3....

Now my phone can occupy more songs... wherever video is not necessary mp3 is now an alternative for me!!

Your question helped me also so much :)

Thank you Reiki
Thank you Guruji
Thank you Mam... :)
