On self-learning

…contd….

“You mean we need to separate them and apply different rules to both?” enquired Vishesh a bit confused.

“Yes of course. All the knowledge that is related to physical world or material world is called as ‘lower knowledge’. This can be learnt from anyone. The person who teaches is called a ‘teacher’ as in subject teacher and he need to possess just the knowledge and degree to teach this knowledge to others. He himself need not have had experienced the subject at all. For example a physics lecturer just needs to teach “3 laws of motions”. For that he need not understand its application in day-to-day life or for that matter he need not even understand the concepts of physics that he teaches. The same rule applies to any other subject of this world. Next his ‘character’ need not be a clean one to teach these subjects. He need not maintain his integrity to explain the ‘Laws of motion’ right?

So this way subject is independent of its teachers character, understanding and his energy levels. So therefore, these subjects can be learnt even from internet.

But when it comes to ‘knowledge of self’ or the ‘Higher knowledge’ no amount of logic can give you an understanding. No amount of reading gives you the ‘right understanding’. Infact, it is ‘wrongly understood’ and the danger is that which is ‘wrongly understood’ assumed as ‘the Truth’ and then it is propagated or condemned based on who has read it and to achieve what purpose. All fanatics are the result of this ‘self-help concept’ through internet. What a pity! Knowledge which is to free us binds us to our ego and ignorance more and all because we ‘experimented’ and thought ‘oh, I can do it on my own’ attitude!” replied Anamika confidently.

“But what the hell! How can it be ‘wrongly interpreted’ for that matter, how does on become ‘more ignorant’ by reading these scriptures or following healing or meditation techniques?’ asked Saritha. She really was pissed by now. I knew her well. She went through internet and kept learning some or the other technique and was proud of the fact that she was ‘growing spiritually’. She was always talking about ‘various spiritual experiences’ to us – though we didn’t tell our Guru about that.
