…contd….
I don’t know how but exactly in 1/2an hour we were out of her
place and had already covered 10mts of distance. How Rahul managed to
co-ordinate and manage food, transport, water etc was a puzzle! I envied many
qualities in him and this was on top of the list. And yet no sign of tension or
stress on his face. He was relaxed all through. He didn’t even boast of his
‘hard work’ nor did he explain ‘what all he had to do’ to make this trip
possible! God how I hated his ability to underplay his efforts! I was with such
thoughts when the resort came in sight. It was just 10.30am and we were already
there. It wasn’t a fanciful one nor did we notice any crowd there. It seemed as
if ours was the only group”. Good – the entire resort for ourselves”. I smiled
as these thoughts settled in my psyche.
All of us settled under a huge peepul tree. We spread few
sheets of papers and made ourselves comfortable. As we sat down we saw few
squirrels jump around and up and down the trees. We hadn’t seen squirrels since
long and seeing so many of them in their natural habitat and that too ‘with
their dancing shoes on’ – well we all were delighted. We were lost in following
their actions and antiques. Our laughter was ringing in the atmosphere or
should I say swaying with the leaves and branches?
Rahul came with hot brewing tea and I needed just that. All said
and done, he was excellent in arranging things. I should give him credit for
that. We relished our tea with biscuits and it was so good with the not so cold
breeze enveloping us as hot tea gave us much needed warmth.
With the tea business over, some left to enjoy ‘the swings’. Many
of us haven’t even seen one in recent years – especially in the lap of nature. The
giggling and the laughter explained our state of being and the time we were
having.
