Me, My Guru
Il dolce far niente!
(So beautifully compressed in this song by living legend Gulzar sahab and what a rendition by great singer in his melodious voice Bhupender in the film 'mausam' - couldn't be bettered by any other person's acting - only sanjeev sahab could justify such wordings.........
just listen to the 'thaharaav' in Bhupenda's voice - it itself speaks of the 'phursat' (freetime) so clearly........especially when he says 'phursat ke raat din'
Il dolce far niente!
…contd…..
(Gorinta chettu) Henna tree
...contd...
We discovered during our walk various birds, many trees that
we don’t get to see on regular basis now as during our childhood – like ‘badam
ka jhaad’ (badam tree), henna tree etc. We shared our anecdotes connected to these
trees with each other. By the time we came back to ‘our peepul tree’ others had
woken up and were looking fresh and eager to listen to our tales and
experience.
There was lots of small talk and merriment that filled the
hours of the clock. Hot, intoxicating smell of tea arrived at the right time
and increased the flavor of the hour with its presence.
So, how was your day?” asked our Guru casually (or so I
thought!)
“It was relaxing” I said and others agreed to that.
“We had great fun”
“We played these games after so many years and it really was
exciting”.
“We discovered the kid within us”.
“Thank-you and Rahul for giving us such a wonderful day!”
Such was the various responses that she received. She nodded her head and smiled. Then after a
pregnant pause, with a smile that said more than it showed she asked “what
special did you do today?”
“Special? Nothing! We just lazed around!”
“We played a lot”
“We were relaxed!” each gave out his observation.
