desire and anger

…..contd…..

Remember one thing. It’s not the end of the world if one desire is fulfilled. No next desire also will bring us on the same point sooner or latter.  So, instead of being restless and being anxious for the fulfillment of our desire,  concentrate on the state of mind.  Learn to stabilize your mind and work on your inner turmoil.  You will come out of this situation as a more balanced person and that is your actual victory because you will be better equipped next time when the next desire upsets your life and your emotions.  Desire can bring about our downfall and I have given few examples for the same but the same desire if handled correctly can elivate us and our life for ever and more!

Dhruv wanted to sit on his father’s lap like his step-brother.  But his step-mother taunted him saying that he should have been born as her son to enjoy that! He was dejected and went sobbing to his mother. She said (what a great mother she was) “She is right! You as my son don’t have the right to sit on your father’s lap! Gain that right by doing tapas and seek a boon from Lord Vishnu for the same.  That’s the only way to get your wishes fulfilled!”

He lost no time in following her suggestion.  He didn’t sit to analyse the situation or the people.  He didn’t start hating them. He didn’t go around talking ill of them.  He didn’t fight with logic or rule of the land to get his wish fulfilled.  He simply followed his mother’s suggestion and went into forest and did tapas! (You neednot go to forest to get your wish fulfilled! Just start meditating at your home and as much as you can – don’t count the minutes or hours. Meditate and do reiki till your wishes come true! Remember the seven year kid Dhruv did intense tapas to fulfill just one small wish and we don’t have patience to do reiki, meditation even for few days/months (he did it 24/7 and we do only max 30 minutes /per and still ask “how many more days?”).
