Both Duryodhana and Yudhishtra respectfully and completely followed their respective Guru's Shakuni and Krishna - but to what end?
'Shraddha waan labate' means you receive as per your Shraddha. The returns depends totally on the place the belief is placed. If placed on on evil source, the return will be so, on demi-god it will be proportionate to that god's power. Likewise, on the quality of your Guru, depends your returns. So choose your Guru with care.
Do Guru shishya meet more than once during their life journeys i.e., do they meet in various janmas or is it a one-time affair?
Not only Guru-shishya but no relationship which is near and dear is a one-time affair. If there is a person very close to you, be it a relative, friend, country etc, then it means you've walked this path of life many times before and will meet many more times in future births - even if the emotion involved is that of hatred, pain or any such negative one.
So, naturally if every relationship - even negative we gain attract in our future life and have lived so in past lives, it is no doubt that guru-shishya's relationship spans various janmas.

Excellent but I also have one more question I read in few books that yudushtira was the only one to be offered heaven and all his brothers and wife were offered hell duryodhana who caused the war was offered heaven why? They also say that after the war the kingdom was full if sorrow and unhappy compared to the time duryodhana ruled please explain
