4.  Guru can also teach and guide you when not in physical body.  This he does through his words, teachings and works that he has left behind eg., Sri Adi Shakaracharya through his various treatises like Vivekachoodamani, Soundarya lahari etc.

Swami Paramahamsa's Guru Shri Lahari Baba was guided and absorbed into himself by his Guru Swami Mahaavatar Baba (Read - Autobiography of a Yogi).  Mahaavataar Baba is seen by his followers even after 2000 years of his dropping his physical body.  He teaches through his spiritual body.

But, this teaching is done only when student has reached a certain stage in meditation - which is very advanced and very few reach that stage through intense sadhan spreading over janmas sometimes and their Guru guiding them through each of their janma too!

Yes, teaching and learning can happen even in Guru's absence (physically) but the question remains, Is hte student qualified to receive that teaching?

Now, how to qualify as such a student?

Simple. Sadhan, sadhan and more sadhan.  The sadhan techniques that need to be followed regularly are :-
1. Pranayamam
2. Homam
3. Hands on (If reiki channels)
4. Various meditations taught in various degrees of reiki class
5. Work on attitudes and drop ego, arroganc, pride, manipulations, selfishness et like.
6. Develop attitudes like humility, seva - esp. Guru seva, gratitude, surrendrance.
7. Read Guru's words, teachings regularly - nay daily and think about it through the events of the day and see how to apply them in life.
8. Sing guru's praises (bhajan), spread his word (without being fanatic or arrogant) and talk/discuss about his teachings.

Simple! Right? So why wait to start all the practices from today onwards.  It takes years of practise to make our gesture into genuine acts of devotion .... and then slowly we'll start seeing effects of our bhakthi.  But to experience, we need to practise right from this moment onwards....

Remember, no sadhan will give results if attitudes are not corrected....

But, the eternal Golden Fact remains "To See, Hear and serve a Guru physically is a luxury that can be never traded to any joys of all the worlds!".....

Learning can be done otherwise also. But to experience Guru's love (which is like none in this world) you need to have him physically present........

I would always choose Guru's Presence to all the knowledge of this world.......aapki ki aap janoo...
