The power of the Individual!

The power of the Individual!

“Truth, purity and unselfishness – wherever these are present, there is no power below or above the sun to crush the possessor thereof. Equipped with these, one individual can face the whole Universe in opposition.” –Swami Vivekananda.

So true!

Look at the lives of any great leader or person from the leaves of history. You will find proof enough to substantiate this truth.

Mahatma Gandhi, a puny little person dressed only in dhothi shook The Great Empire where the sun never sets! All with just non-violence! So many great wars were fought. So many people died and yet so many nations did not become free. And yet, this Great Nation fought for its freedom with NON-VIOLENCE. Everyone laughed at the idea. But, he believed our scriptures. He believed that being non-violent was more effective than being violent. He was proved right! All with the weapons of Truth, purity and unselfishness!

Mother Theresa, a puny unknown nun from Europe found herself in the dingy lanes of Calcutta. She did not have anyone to guide her. No one to seek help. Left to herself to attend to her belief and call of the Spirit! But, this woman was equipped with Truth, purity (of intent) and unselfishness. And lo, miracles happened one after the other. Lepers were attended. Charity work became a possibility. The sick and the homeless found hope and redemption in her work and through her work.

Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Baba Amte, Mirabai, you search and you will find dozen to the score – people who were just equipped with these stellar qualities and won the Nation on their side. Again and again – proved!

And yet, we need reasons to develop these qualities.

And yet, we seek power from others.

And yet, we think to fight is to be powerful.

The best thing about being “most powerful” is you start the war on your weakness. The war is within your area of operation – right within. And all through the day we can wage this war. No bloodshed. No money required. No one need know our failures.

Truth, purity and unselfishness! That’s all it takes to win every battle in this World, of this World!

Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

Contd....

Me My Guru – On Sadhan being “Sahaj” (effortless!)

If you love God, Reiki, sadhan, healing or Self, you’ll find ways to infuse sadhan in your routine. Just as one doesn’t say “I didn’t find time to sleep, eat, bathe, brush teeth, comb” and so on, you should understand sadhan is “one of your essentials” of your life. It is not an option. One who sees it so doesn’t give excuses. The others find healing and sadhan boring and repetitive.

And to get this understanding we need to sit in meditation regularly and look at our excuses. Look at them. Understand them. Understand their source. And break that hold of the psychic impression on you. That is freedom. That is Nirvana (in small ways). Small victories from our little bundles of psychic impressions are what we need to aim at to be able to live life our way. Till then we are leading the life as our psychic impressions push us towards.

Wake up, reclaim your life.

You deserve to be happy – in the real sense.

You deserve your love more than anything.

Break free from the past psychic impressions that are binding you.

Reclaim yourself.

The world is for those who are free from within!

Know this!

Walk towards this!

Walk towards your abundance!”

Me, My guru – On duties, responsibilities and results

Contd....

Me, My guru – On duties, responsibilities and results

Pointers to understand the post:

Even without turning around Pundarika pushed a brick and replied “Welcome Lord! Please stand on that brick lest your feet get dirty with mud (as it was monsoon season).”” – One who is engrossed in SERVICE doesn’t try to PLEASE OTHERS OR FLATTER OTHERS to get his work done. He doesn’t manipulate. The purity in service itself becomes the key to your success. If success doesn’t come in spite of hard work, look within. Meditate. Find out where you are lacking in “serving right”. Don’t think that JUST DOING service qualifies “receiving blessings or grace”. The intent should be pure.

Service is done just for the sake of service.

If it is done seeking something, it stops being service.

Pundarika even without turning still replied, “So the parental service has such power that you had to come even though uncalled?”” – This is enough to understand the importance of doing any job with nishta, Shraddha and bhakthi. The job done because you have no other choice gives returns accordingly. The job half-done also reaps such benefits. The work which lacks love doesn’t give happiness to the doer and the receiver.

Look at the way the job at hand is done.

Find ways to better it.

Improve the quality of work done – any work worth doing is worth doing well!

Understand how work properly done releases us from our karma and the work not done properly binds us to our karma!

Meditate on this!

Work on this!

Use it for your growth, success, redemption and happiness.

Me, My guru – Little Patridges and the mighty Ocean – Bhagavatham!

Contd....

Me, My guru – Little Patridges and the mighty Ocean – Bhagavatham!

Your fight can be with your situation.

Your fight can be with your disturbing emotions too! You can be waging war within yourself. You may be facing the inner demons. This fight everyone does alone! Fear would come to us. But like Patridge couple, if we just start the war against the ego, our inner demons and ourselves, then bye and by, we’ll find help from the unknown quarters too. Eventually, we’ll retrieve what we’ve lost.

We’ve lost connection with our soul. We’ve lost ourselves to Maya. We’ll regain our lost kingdom of Heaven. We’ll regain ourselves. We’ll be free from all weaknesses and fear. we’ll be blissful ever after!

God will come then! But, a journey of these 1000 miles starts with the first step!

Do not look at your opponent’s strength.

Do not look at your flaws and weaknesses.

Do not see that you are alone.

Do not be harbouring your negativity on the wrong done to you. Get up. Collect yourself. Take action to correct the wrong.

These were the exact things the Patridge couple did. They didn’t see how mighty the ocean was.

They decided not to let the wrong win.

They fought to right the wrong.

Then, you’ll never feel weak and helpless as humans.

Then, even God will come to your aid.

Arise, awake and stop not ill you reach your goal – Uthishta!” our Guru concluded.

She answered our questions. We were left with no questions – for now!

She gave us our solutions. She showed us the way. But, like the pig, we reveled in our shitty existence. (To understand how Maha Vishnu when took a form of pig was clouded by Maya https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=vishnu+as+pig)

As long as we embraced our ignorance of our “True Nature” there was no way out of our pain and suffering.

She left us for the day!

We left her place.

Did we all receive all that our Guru gave?

Bless the day when we would!!??

But, today, it remained a wishful thinking!

Me, My guru – Little Patridges and the mighty Ocean – Bhagavatham!

Me, My guru – Little Patridges and the mighty Ocean – Bhagavatham!

They all started carrying sand in their little beaks and throwing it in the Mighty Ocean. Time passed.

The entire beach was filled with the commotion of all the patridges. It was a strange sight.

Other big birds noticed this. They found this intriguing. They approached the patridges and asked them “What are you people doing?”

The patridges pointed to the Patridge couple and asked the big birds to ask them for an explanation. When asked by the big birds, the Patridge couple explained the loss of their little ones by the Mighty Ocean and also explained to them their resolve to punish the Mighty Ocean. The big birds found it very inspiring that such small birds had such great commitment to support their fellow patridge. The big birds felt it was their duty to help the little ones of their family. So all the big birds started taking bigger rocks and started filling the Mighty birds.

Little by little, the word spread in the bird kingdom. Birds from far and wide joined their YAGNA now.

Everyone felt each of them had to help the Patridge couple. They joined hands with the patridge couple in the war against the Mighty Ocean.

Me, My Guru – Hiss, but don’t bite

 Contd....

Me, My Guru – Hiss, but don’t bite

Pointers to understand this post:

Buddha was touched. He healed the snake and patting its hood said with a smile in a very gentle voice “I asked you not to bite. But, I didn’t ask you not to hiss”.” – see how Buddha answers the Cobra. He is not judging the snake. He is not talking with arrogance of knowledge. He is not forcing his knowledge. He is gentle.

People say “But, when we give advice, they get angry maam”. Look at the way you talk, behave and conduct yourself – even from within. Therein, lies the reason for their behavior towards your advice.

The snake smiled.”- The snake having the quality of a true shishya listened with emptiness when his Guru spoke. He didn’t complain to Buddha saying “I followed your advice trusting you and see what happened to me??!!”

He understood the teaching correctly now. It bowed to the Master and thanked him for showing the right path!” – When the person has purity of intent he will understand with a simple gesture, word or a smile even. Purity of intent is important here.

Did she listen to our conversation? But that was almost impossible!!! We were left with these questions – as ever with ourselves.” – Miracles happen all around us and in so many ways and so many times, yet because of our ego, we can’t see it or validate it.

We should learn to hiss – but not bite!” – We memorize so many tag lines in this spiritual path. We quote them right! But, living them is not something that is possible for everyone. Concentrate on living them - a little a day!

No quote is imbibed overnight. No quote is a sentence. A quote is an 'action verb' that needs to be put into practice a million times a day for it to become effective in your life!

Me, My Guru – On where there is a will, there is a way!

Contd...

Me, My Guru – On where there is a will, there is a way!

Our Guru just smiled and waited for tea to arrive.” – Read this sentence again and again. And see the reaction and the emotions of the students in the next para. What did you understand from this?

We need not react or answer every question IMMEDIATELY! Just by waiting, you can fizzle the emotion and tension in the air many times. But, the classic question is, “Do you want to fizzle the emotion or are you fighting your ego battle?”

The MANTRA to maintain or sustain a good relationship, to reduce the negative vibe, and to ease the stress is “WAIT”. And, for that, we need to be balanced ourselves. We need to work on our ego – at other times so that we are balanced in times of need.

“SRK, AB –  when such examples are given – someone will come up with some other similar name. Now, what is the purpose of this example? Just to drive home a point. That is already done. Then, why take the pain to introduce one more character – whether public or your dear one?

Only a person who is listening or reading with emptiness will not come up with any other example.

Those who are reading out of ego will come up with similar examples. Stop there. Look within. Check the reason for your mind to go in that direction. Smile at your mind game. Come back and find your centre.

Let this post/example help you to find yourself and your ‘silent zone’. Do not get more into the ‘sound of knowing’ after reading the blog.

Me, My guru – On keeping healthy

Contd....

Me, My guru – On keeping healthy

Pointers to understand this post:

“Guruji, we know the list of do’s and don’ts to keep ourselves healthy. Eat right, exercise, maintain cleanliness and have food, sleep and wake up at the right time – these are some of them. But, can you give us a simple easy for anyone to follow technique that could decrease the chances of us falling sick regularly” asked Vaishnav” – This is one common mistake by most who want to grow especially in spiritual field. They THINK they know and ask to be told other than what they actually know! Sad on so many counts! A person who actually learns, adapts, grows and benefits is the one who sits, listens and asks with emptiness. He doesn’t come with the baggage of “knowing” anything. He listens with  open mind. He listens with an empty mind.

others'“We all laughed. He always asked such questions. He wanted quick-fix solutions.” – Very often it is seen that we find it easy to find fault in others. We laugh at others' shortcomings. But, when others do the same with us, we get angry, hurt and carry grudge.

Forget others’ faults. Stop looking at them. If you REALLY want to progress in the path towards your growth and happiness, then look for flaws only in yourself. Look within and outgrow them as and when you notice them. Work on your short-comings. Leave the flaws of others for themselves.

“Just that?” asked Vaishnav surprised.” – Even when we get what we asked for, we don’t seem to be happy about that. Do you know why?

Remember, we always get what we seek, what we ask and what we search for. So, know what you want and ask for and be very sure about that!

If one is not happy even after getting what he asks for, then how can one be happy ever?

“You wanted a simple solution right?” asked our Guru.” – You get what you ask for! So, beware!

Me, My guru – on receiving grace and on the power of Grace!

Contd....

Me, My guru – on receiving grace and on the power of Grace!

She took her time to settle and adjust her saree. She drank water from her glass. She even gave instructions to bring tea and some biscuits. And only then, she replied in the usual gentle way” – A person who is calm from within doesn’t get enamoured by others’ reactions or taunts. He is ever so calm and peaceful. That person acts out of control. That person demands respect. That person need not beg to be respected. That person is in control of the situation. That person knows to be centered amid chaos! And all that is possible only when we know ourselves, heal ourselves and work on ourselves.

In this example, the Sun’s rays are your Guru’s blessings and grace. Being indoors reflects a lack of right attitudes. This causes ‘deficiency’ in our lives”.” – In every relation, a person who is always looking at what the other has to give and how he has to act is the one who is always complaining and suffering.

Instead, if the person looks at his own actions and intentions and works on himself, he will walk towards solutions and towards freedom from every suffering.

By now tea was served. We drank. The tension in the air was gone. We regained our calm. Our anxiety and anger just vanished. Was it the effect of ‘this place’? we always wondered about this!!! We also felt it could be because of her presence. But we never found the answer – yet!” – In the company of a peaceful person, everyone becomes calm and peaceful. If people are getting restless, irritated and agitated, then we need to look at our state of mind and work on it. The day we become calm and composed, others will also become so in our presence.

We don’t need to change the entire World. Just change yourself and the entire World will change for better.

That really was a divine miracle. And how have we missed out on seeing, validating or appreciating it all these years?! The loss – of course, was ours – all the way!!??” – Everyone is always looking for material miracles. But, the real miracle is the way ‘the person is”. And that we miss out on many occasions. How sad is that!?

Look around you. Do you find such miraculous behavior in the people in your life? Bless them! Thank them for who they are! Validate them! Be grateful for such people in your life!

And our Guru left without much ado. Even in not creating a scene in case of emergency – which was but obvious, we had so much to learn.” – How a person conducts himself in times of need and emergency talks about him a lot! Look at yourself ( at least after the incident has passed) and see where you can improve. Look at yourself and your behavior and know the areas that need to be healed. Then heal! And then next time see if you have conducted yourself in a better way! Know the way healing is impacting you – this way every single time. Then, every bad phase also becomes your learning arena. And you benefit from such times too!
