Now coming to the first point – how karma impacts our lives and how it shapes our future – this case study is ‘practical lessons’ that we have taken from others’ lives. The Intelligent ones learn from their mistakes.

A wise man learns from others’ lives and mistakes.

And a fool thinks he doesn’t need to learn as he already knows it all!

How to understand these case studies:

1.    We are not here to judge others with these case studies. That’s why no name is given in these studies.

2.     My motto is not to malign their character or name. I would’ve given names if it was so! Many of these people are not even Reiki channels(RC). None of them you would meet in life. Such are the cases that are given to you – well, mostly.

3.     This exercise is not that you complain or malign or question some person’s acts or character

4.     By seeing how karma impacts or comes back into someone’s life, we’ll become more aware of how “The Law of Karma” works. Here I’ll point out a few points to you:

A huge lorry from nowhere came and rammed our car. They both were shaken. They cancelled the trip and came back. Now, my question to you is when I had done Reiki as told by you, why did our car get hit so badly?”

Most of the students accuse me or Reiki in the guise of “asking doubts”. This reflects their ingratitude, lack of clarity to perceive right and some more wonderful attitudes that if said would hurt the one concerned.

Here:

a.Life was saved and yet there is no gratitude. Of course, the sentence would start as “Yes, yes, I am grateful but…..”

NO, YOU ARE NOT GRATEFUL HERE – know this once and for all!

b.Even driver was not hurt.

c.One who was to die or be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life did not have a scratch on him and yet – only demanding explanation??!!(REALLY????)

d.There was a small tea stall and a tree where the car broke. If this is not ‘grace beyond measure’ – what is?

Let’s understand karma and destiny – see healing does heal our karma. Use sadhan required to heal the particular situation. For some, one week of healing gives results and to some it takes 10 years. And others anywhere in between.

If you desire, heal till the desire is fulfilled – however long. No one is answerable just because you are desperate for your wish to come true!

The event may still happen, but the karma will be reduced considerably by healing. Do not cry for the the car gone.

Well, this was my reply for the car “You’ve been complaining about this car since a year. Go and buy a brand new car with insurance money”.

This lady was the one who changed cars almost every year. So, where was the loss?

Such is the power of healing.

Such is the Grace of the Divine.

Our Guru continued with explaining how karma dealt with people giving us some case studies. "II case: In a certain family, the eldest son was not liked by anyone except the father. So, when the father died, they made him sign a will relinquishing his rights. Years rolled by. His mother suffered multiple surgeries and was bedridden for 2 years. Her daughter whom she considered the whole world didn’t come to even see her once. Her second son at 70 yrs is working to run the family. All the riches washed away faster than they received. They experienced only poverty. What’s the use of usurping others' rights? You’ll end up not being able to enjoy a penny of it.

Such are the cases and many more too! Whenever I see, if I wait for 10-20 years, I see karma coming back. People pay back. Some realize and repent. Many don’t. those who repent change for the better. Their attitudes get transformed and they would’ve developed some very good divine qualities and lost or diluted their asuric nature. Others who don’t realize this suffer more and more.

They become more bitter and amass so much negativity from people in their lives. They become so lonely. They lived in hell! Because they don’t realize karma doesn’t get healed or exhausted in spite of having faced the consequences. They sow more karma with resentment and bitterness. The vicious cycle continues and that is ‘living in hell endlessly’!

There is good news though here. We have an other option – a better option. We can choose to come out of our suffering. For this, we have to first accept that what the other person has done reflects who he is and not us. We can’t change them. Even in future, we can’t change the way the other person behaves with us. But, we can work on ourselves. We can choose not to let their actions impact us. We can heal our conditioning, belief systems, expectations, and ego. This would finally make it easy for us to make the right choices again and again till we master our emotions and our responses.

The person who cheats, defames, deceits or hurts us may be powerful like that Mighty Ocean. Power can be that which comes with money, post, status or even by way of age. Power also comes to a person when he is close to us emotionally too! That is the most ‘powerful’ of all powers. This power makes the person most powerful. Because, we find it easy to fight a war with an outsider, but to have even an argument with a family member drains us of our energy! Now imagine, we have to wage a war against our relatives. That is the level of weakness Arjuna faced in the Kurukshetra war.

Such situations and people that we need to fight against are no doubt powerful. We feel weak and helpless. But, if we like that patridge couple decide to keep up our side of fighting against the wrong-doer, will no doubt win the war – eventually! Even God will be on our side. If we are not ready to fight our battle, how will God come to our aid? So, is it not stupid on our part to curse God for not coming to our aid? Think about it!

In these years, Prajapathi taught them the importance of good health, wealth and waking consciousness (Jagrat Avastha)

At the end of 32 years, they took leave of their Guru and left towards their abode. When they crossed quite a distance, they took leave of each other to go their respective ways. It was then that Indra thought “This body is perishable. So this Knowledge of maintaining it cannot be ultimate. My Guru must’ve meant something else. I’ll go back and find it out!”. He turned around and returned to the Ashram.

Whereas Virochana looked at his reflection, recollected all his teachings and felt “This body is Ultimate!. So, beauty and importance of this body, abundance of wealth and power, gratification of physical senses through various pleasures is the Ultimate!”. This he taught to all his subjects – Asuras. They were very happy and lived based on these teachings. Even today, the majority lead their life around these teachings only! People who live and believe so to be the “Be All” are called “Asuras”. They lead an “asuric life”. They develop “asuric or demonic quality in themselves”.

On the other hand, Indra reached Ashram, explained his doubt to his Guru and sought an explanation. Prajapathi agreed to teach more but with the condition that Indra stays as a Brahmachari (Celibate student) with him for another 32 years. Indra agreed again. He stayed back.

" My Guru must’ve meant something else. I’ll go back and find it out!”. He turned around and returned to the Ashram " - The person who can realize that whatever he knows is not enough and he needs to seek further is the person who is destined to grow. His attitude is the reason he develops and becomes a 'deva'.

" This he taught to all his subjects – Asuras. " - One who thinks he is got ALL RIGHT is the one who is drunk with arrogance and his ego will never let him see through his ignorance. Having learnt wrong and limited, he will spread the same unto all he meets and teaches. That also becomes his karma. Everyone is in the hurry to become a master!

Their low self-esteem forces them to sit on the throne of mastership at the earliest. Unfortunately, that becomes the 'rod' that hits with karma in their life.

On fate, destiny, attitudes and choices! – Me, my Guru

“Guruji, I am told by many and I have read that we meet the people in our lives as per “destiny”. If it is so, doesn’t it mean that I am to be with that person for the rest of my life too? Is that not destined? Why did I meet him if I was not to be with him?” asked Priya.

Our Guruji just smiled at her. And before she could answer, I asked her the long pending question of mind “but if it is true, then how come people in my life have moved on? If destiny has brought them to me, then shouldn’t they be part of my life even now?”

“But Guruji, are we to accept every person we meet in our life seeing it as destiny?” asked Rahul

She smiled and waited for her tea to come. We too waited. She drank her tea, enjoying it as if that was the last cup of her life??!!

I expected her to come up with at least 3 stories to answer our 3 questions today! I wanted to see which of her stories she would repeat. Or would she come up with a new one? I was waiting anxiously. Sometimes, I feel, I am more interested in her stories than in receiving answers to my queries or questions. Maybe, that was one of the reasons I never could go beyond collecting stories. Applying them seemed like a “future project” to me. I laughed at my own thoughts. I knew where the problem was and also its solutions. At least in these cases. And yet, I chose not to work on them. And therefore, I could conveniently quote her “You are where you are because of your choices”.

Sunrise brought new light and a whole new morning into her life. She started dancing with joy. She ran to every house, knocked on their door, and waited. When they opened their door, she hugged them thanking them for having denied her permission to enter and stay in their house. She told them if “You hadn’t rejected me; I wouldn’t be Enlightened. Thank you for this beautiful night”.

So you see, this monk got Enlightened because of rejection. As people refused to help her, she was forced to spend night in the open. As she was hungry and it was very cold she couldn’t sleep. With nothing much to do, she kept looking at the moon and lo! she got everything! She became everything!”

At this point, our Guru received a call and she went in to receive that. We didn’t like the way our discussion went. We knew deep down that what she was trying to imply was useful. But, we didn’t want that!

We were angry and we wanted to dump on the person whom we assumed to be responsible for it.

She took her seat. We had our reasons and questions to bombard at her and yet no one dared to open their mouth.

She continued “So you see, “everything happens for Good” if you just flow with the flow. We look at every incident and person with our glasses of expectations and conditions. When it is not met, we feel cheated, disappointed, and angry. We can be with these emotions and suffer as much as we like. Or, we can look around and see beauty in ‘what we already have’ and ‘enjoy’ it. I know none of you want enlightenment and that is fine. It’s your choice. But, this story is just an indicator. It says if an incident which we term as ‘rejection, helplessness, loneliness, pitiful, wrong etc’ can lead one to ‘Enlightenment’ can’t our ‘bad’ people and situations lead us towards happiness and material abundance? Where you choose to look is your choice! That choice decides your destiny. And then we blame Guru or God for being egoistic, sadistic etc for creating troubles in our life!?

Reflections – on seeing His ways!

Our response expresses where we are and who we are! And that, my dear, is the seed of karma that we reap on a later date! Situation being same, response and reaction is varied and different. Facing that situation doesn’t reflect much about that person, but his response surely does!

Stop to look at response at least once a day. Just pick one response that disturbed you and look within. If you are not able to, then simply heal yourself of that attitude. Over time, the way you see and handle the situation would change – may be gradually – and then you’ll be proud of your growth and transformation. You’ll reap the benefits of this change yourself. No one – not even God can take away that fruit from you. Enjoy it, relish it and keep moving on this path. You’ll find bigger riches on this path laid out for you – again and again. Own it! Celebrate it! Enjoy it!

And share it with others and let your journey inspire others to keep going on this path!

Unfortunately, we are only as safe as the society. The more number of people down this path ONLY can ensure a ‘RIGHT SOCIETY’ for us! We complain about how people are selfish, mean, manipulative more now. If you want it to change, then encourage others who are trying to make progress in this path. Their steps are small and heavy. Support them! They are timid, weak and insecure! Cheer them and stand by them. They are unsure, encourage them with your experiences. Give them reasons and explanations to walk this path!

This path is lonely, long and painful. Let’s make it easy for each other by being sharing our journey with each other.

This is one of my favourite stories from the Indian Epic Ramayan. Read the link to understand how blessing and curse work...how our karma comes to bite us, sometimes as a blessing...

When we look at people who are enjoying what we desire to enjoy or have in life and when we also know that they have wronged in life and we haven't, we all feel bad. We question the justice of God. We doubt on the God's ways of handling things. We doubt if we need to be good. We ask "What is the purpose of being good if we don't get what we desire inspite of not getting what we seek when those who are bad get what they don't deserve?"

Read the above story - all your questions in this topic and line would be answered. Things are not as they seem. Not all punishments come as suffering. Sometimes they are also given in the form of 'blessings'. That is a very bad place to be. 

Beware of goodies that are bestowed on us. We can't escape our karma. At times, it comes to us in the form that entices us as 'abundance'. There lies the catch!

“Guru, is there hell?” asked Vaishnav.

“Ask where heaven is” teased Kshama.

“Each will ask directions of place that he decides to go” Swathi teased.

“Has he decided to go there or is he sure of going there?” someone joined and all ended up laughing.

“But you people didn’t let me complete my question. You misunderstood my question. I was about to ask even about heaven” Vaishnav complained.

“Why ask directions to a place you are sure not to go?” replied Swathi teasing him.

Our Guru cut the banter and started her talk “Alexander winning battle after battle came to a forest. His soldiers found from the locals that a monk who was a ‘great Enlightened Being’ resided in that forest. They gave this news to Alexander. He sent a summon through his soldiers to the Master to come and meet him. Soldiers went seeking that Master and when they found him sitting under a tree they said “Alexander the Great Emperor desires to meet you. Please come with us. We’ll take you to him”.

The Master opened his eyes. He saw the soldiers standing with folded arms in front of him. He replied “It is your king’s desire to meet me. So let him come here to meet me”.

Being helpless soldiers took the message to Alexander. Now Alexander sent his Chief Ministers with precious gems and other gifts with a request for Master to come and meet him.

The ministers were led by the soldiers to the place where the Master was meditating. They placed all the gifts in front of him and saluted to him. The Master opened his eyes and asked “What are all these?”

The ministers replied “They are yours, Master. Alexander has sent them to you. He wishes to meet you. Please come with us”.

Points to be understood :

• Our choices create hell and heaven for us.
• Hell and heaven are not destinations. They are product of our choices and creations.
• We create our own hell and heaven depending upon our choices.
• Choose wisely for you ought to live in the hell or heaven that you choose for yourself!
• No body can get you out of hell or heaven you create unless you choose to come out of it.
• Master/Universe/Reiki can only point that which is causing you to suffer. You choosing is in your hands - literally!

Life Tips :

Those who are WFH and even others who are at home if feeling bored, depressed or restless to go out - try this tip.

Stop working and being in those "house clothes" (like old torn nighties, pyjamas, shorts etc). Get dressed by 9.30am and be so till 5.30pm. Be dressed as if you are going to your office. You are working still! right? then why not be dressed the same way! 

Why let those special sarees get old in almirahs? Take them out. Complete all your work by 9.30am as if you are going to office by then. Next get dressed in good clothes and then work, play, watch TV whatever.........
