Image result for mohini bhasmasuraImage result for mohini bhasmasuraLord Vishnu took a form of a beautiful damsel called Mohini and met Bhasmasur as he was going through the forest towards his palace. He fell in love with her and sought her hand in marriage. She agreed on a condition that he matches his dance steps with hers. He agreed, amused. She started to dance and he followed suit. As he became engrossed in the dance along with Mohini, Mohini placed her hand on her head and Bhasmasura  his hand on his head too and lo! He immediately was on fire and turned to ash! So when a wrong doer seeks for a boon, it is granted but that very blessing is the curse that he deserves for his deeds and attitudes. ***

Lobhi ko lobh aur balwaan ko ahankaan use maartha hai.

Greedy meets his end/downfall because of his greed and a powerful person meets his death because of his arrogance.

Just because a person is bad, God doesn’t stop listening to his prayers. Everyone’s prayers are answered. If a wrong doer does penance or pooja (devotional ritual), then in exchange, he is blessed with his asking. But his “attitude” and “karma” catch up with him through that very blessing that he sought. How ironic is that!

And people think they are smart enough to cheat XX and God! How pathetic and shallow is their vision of God and what arrogance to think that in exchange for their “little offerings” they not only seek opulence, but also think they can get away from their karma or destiny. Such naïve webs these fools weave!

(*** Stories in Indian Mythology are just not woven to entertain. They are not works of fiction or some writers fanciful works! They are works that educate people on how to be and how not to be. They teach the consequences of our every act and attitude! They show with examples the cause and effect in our lives. They tell us how our choices make or break our fate.)

Points to ponder :

Our attitudes reflect our 'karma' and destiny! And we carry our attitudes with us all the time........so wherever we go our network follows....

How justified is our blaming God/guru for our hardships?

Unless we own up our role in our fate, we can never walk the path to correct it even if an opportunity is served on plate! We end up saying "I am fine, it's just that I want XYZ wish to be fulfilled and so see no need for 'self healing'! " WOW!

Blessing that turned into curse – Me, My Guru

Image result for attitude quotesBut everyone in the court was confused. How come such a ‘promotion’ for such a heartless act of his? Why would dog ‘bless’ him with ‘abundance’ in exchange for his act of anger? When asked Rama turned to the dog smiling and asked it to explain instead. The dog started to explain “In my previous life, I was a Kulapathi and out of arrogance swindled money from the temple accounts and ill-treated others – in short I abused my post, the result of which is right in front of you. I am born a dog. A highly respected Brahmin born and living a dog’s life! What can be a bigger curse than this that a brahmin be born as a dog? So, I wished him to have that post and knowing his nature he’ll abuse his post and the consequence would be this ‘disgusting dog’s life!”

Image result for attitude quotesEveryone there were surprised and satisfied that the justice was met. The ‘wrong’ had been punished. Rama just smiled knowingly and the dog left happy and glad that the right punishment has been given out to his wrong-doer!” She left to attend a phone  call and we were left with her story and explanation rolled in one.

“I still didn’t understand her point!” boomed a voice from behind.

“Story is not yet complete” replied a voice from thither!

to know further on this subject https://kantipadam.blogspot.com/search?q=punishment

Points to be understood :

Punishment always need not come back as some loss, receiving some form of abundance can also be a form of punishment

Why some people are made Reiki Masters or any spiritual master when they are not good especially with their intentions and when they are cheating people and students?

Some "elevated posts" are also form of punishments...

Image result for sri rama qualitiesIn the kingdom where the ruler was ‘just’ personified there was prosperity and contentment everywhere and so no one ever came to complain. It was so since years. So Lakshmana found that ritual redundant and yet Lord Rama though happy on listening to the logic still insisted on doing and following that routine. And so Lakshmana went out to see if they were any complaints. The guards at the gate told him that ‘a dog’ had been waiting for quite some time to have audience of Lord Rama to put forth his complaint. King Lakshmana was surprised to hear that someone let that be just a dog had any complaint in the kingdom of Lord Rama. He asked dog to tell him his complaint and promised to address it. But that dog was adamant. He wanted to meet Lord Rama only!

‘So be it’ thought Lakshmana and came in to tell the same to Lord Rama. He immediately asked Lakshmana to bring that dog in his presence inspite of being dead tired. He was such a great king of such a vast kingdom. He could’ve easily fallen back on his tiredness and asked Lakshmana to look into the issue but he didn’t.  That was what made him ‘Purushottam’. A man is not just about his possessions and achievements. He is how he conducts himself on such small and trivial issues, how he deals with them and how he accepts his responsibilities? Most of us want posts, positions, power, money, comforts, respects but never want to face the brick-bats that come our way thanks to our desire of ‘growth and position’ in life! He respected his responsibilities as much as we love and fight for our rights.

“But you people didn’t let me complete my question. You misunderstood my question. I was about to ask even about heaven” Vaishnav complained.

“Why ask directions to a place you are sure not to go?” replied Swathi teasing him.

Our Guru cut the banter and started her talk “Alexander winning battle after battle came to a forest. His soldiers found from the locals that a monk who was a ‘great Enlightened Being’ resided in that forest. They gave this news to Alexander. He sent a summon through his soldiers to the Master to come and meet him. Soldiers went seeking that Master and when they found him sitting under a tree they said “Alexander the Great Emperor desires to meet you. Please come with us. We’ll take you to him”.

The Master opened his eyes. He saw the soldiers standing with folded arms in front of him. He replied “It is your king’s desire to meet me. So let him come here to meet me”.

The ministers were led by the soldiers to the place where the Master was meditating. They placed all the gifts in front of him and saluted to him. The Master opened his eyes and asked “What are all these?”

The ministers replied “They are yours, Master. Alexander has sent them to you. He wishes to meet you. Please come with us”.

Life Tips :

Those who are WFH and even others who are at home if feeling bored, depressed or restless to go out - try this tip.
Stop working and being in those "house clothes" (like old torn nighties, pyjamas, shorts etc). Get dressed by 9.30am and be so till 5.30pm. Be dressed as if you are going to your office. You are working still! right? then why not be dressed the same way!
Why let those special sarees get old in almirahs? Take them out. Complete all your work by 9.30am as if you are going to office by then. Next get dressed in good clothes and then work, play, watch TV whatever.........
Get back with your experiences......

Well, coming to our story, the dog was brought to meet Lord Rama. When Rama enquired the nature of his complain, the dog said “for no fault of mine a Brahmin hit me” and showed the scares on his body. Rama sent for that Brahmin and enquired. He, out of fear of heavy punishment agreed to have hit the dog as he was going around the village seeking ‘bhiksha’ (Brahmin and monks in India and monks eastern countries don’t earn their livelihood. Brahmins teach and perform all Vedic rituals all through the day that would be beneficial for the society at large and hence the society gives them bhiksha – alms in the nearest word but sans pity – the bhiksha is given out of respect to a Brahmin in exchange for the service that he renders to the society – by imparting knowledge to the kids of the society…) he found the dog blocking the road and asked it to move away and when it didn’t he hit it so.

Related imageHe sought pardon from Lord Rama and the dog. The dog was not ready to forgive and asked Rama to punish the Brahmin. And then the dog also decided the punishment – that of making that Brahmin a ‘kulapathi’. Kulapathi was a post of head of temple authority. Brahmin was both surprised and relieved when he heard the punishment and immediately excitedly blurted out “I accept this punishment. I was extremely cruel to this dog and it is my duty to repent by accepting His punishment”. Smiling, King Rama nodded his head accepting his plea and the Brahmin went away jubilant. Dog was pleased and so was the brahmin who was punished.
