Reflections – on cleaning!
Taking a break from the problem and focussing on something else entirely gives the mind sometime to release its fixation on the same situations and let the old pathway fade from the memory.
Archimedes – one of the greatest scientists
was in his bathtub when he understood how to measure volume of an irregular
shaped object. He shouted ‘Eureka’ running naked into the street.
Newton saw an apple fall and formulated ‘Laws of Gravity’. These are just few of the ‘Eureka moments’ stories that tell that great minds discovered well when they were doing something irrelevant or mundane chores. When they weren’t thinking about the problem their minds actually came up with ‘wonderful solutions’. So, if you are stuck with a problem, the answer to which you are seeking since long then here is the key. Go for a walk or take a bath. Do household chores or play some music. Tend to your plants or play with kids. Stare at clouds or walk the dog – in short do the ordinary chore, relaxed. And your solution will stare at you right there right then.
Those who try this, do care to share it with others here
